Balancing the game for Worlds

Here's what I don't agree with - surely Riot's intentional World balancing patch is artificially changing the game for the World stage? It is not a true reflection on how the game is played on the pro scene the rest of the year. It's like soccer changing rules just for the World cup where you can have 12 players on the field or handballs are allowed, but only then.

It doesn't make any sense, and Riot are open about patching the game just for Worlds. Clearly, even having to do this in the first place is an admission that something isn't quite right because they have to pretend the game is setup differently to how it actually is.

A lovely side effect of this is that the rest of us (99.9%) have to play a stupidly balanced game for weeks / months. I bet, most ironically, half of these overbuffed champions aren't even played in Worlds anyway.

Just make 2 seperate version of this game. One would be for esport and second one (balanced) would be for people who want to experience fair game and enjoyment as it used to be back in season 1-5.

If it wasn't for Nexus Blitz and Odyssey, I'd probably have quit the game.

Good that they balance for Worlds and not for the Gameplay Boards.

My same thoughts.

Reason I don't watch any worlds match, the fuck am I supposed to watch? Riot's only allowed champs fighting against each others?

World's patch, and especially "Lee Sin's annual world's buffs!", have been a meme for years now.

They do this, because the game isn't balanced for Pro Play 100% of the year, unlike Soccer, where there is no difference between Pro-play and Casual play 100% of the year, which you seem to forget despite using the Soccer example up above.
