@Riot: would it be possible to add more clarity to the yellow trinket upgrades?

LostFr0st··89 votes·7,193 views

So many times when I go to upgrade my yellow trinket I accidentally get the pink one instead of the green. item 3361 item 3362

Would it be possible to make the orbs the respective trinket colours?item 2044 item 3340 item 2043

Below I have a crude paint version of the suggestion:

A great suggestion and I'll see who's the appropriate person to pass it along to.

Thanks!

While we are at it, why just the orb? Make the whole color scheme change based on the upgrade?

Can we also make it so that when you upgrade from the level 9 trinket, and you have the ward available, it doesn't 'reset' the item, and you have to wait for a ward charge?

I would love it if this change was made! Please follow through with this!

Current version is clear enough in my opinion. Yellow colour quickly tells you the type of trinket, and the pink circle stands out enough to notice easily.

I'd argue with the "easily". I have to look pretty close to make sure I'm buying the right one, and I have several friends that have bought the wrong one because they were in a hurry and couldn't tell the difference.

Well I think it stands out enough, also I just automatically click on the left upgrade because I'm just use to clicking there. I suppose it could be a problems for colour blind people, but then quite a few aspects are.

Or make the background glow the respective ward color.

I have to always remember, in the shop, GREEN is on the LEFT, PINK is on the RIGHT.

For colorblind people I'd imagine this is a big problem, and I'm not sure why they haven't put some other indicator. Maybe even a small icon of the item 2044 item 2043 in the bottom corner?

I know right < 3

I've been remembering it that way too for a long time now.

It's a shame there is no refund button in league....

Not to be a jerk, but the refund button doesn't work when you notice you bought hte wrong one after placing a ward in the jungle. Which is I think the OP's problem : that they're hard to distinguish if you go fast. (Not impossible, just needlessly hard).

First off, the little circle in the bottom Right is the ward type. notice that the standard Warding Totem is more covered by the leaves? Second, learn item names. makes life ALOT easyer in life

Yup, I'm well aware of that, but I just remember left green right pink (as some others have written).
I just figured a bit of clarity for the newer players and those still getting used to upgrading it would help :)

Clarity is always good, new or experienced.

Honnestly, I think the 2 names are really ambiguous. Vision : does that means it's basic vision? Or the one that grant true vision. Stealth : does that means it's the one in stealth? Or the one that see stealth.

I check it by position (basic before (left of) advanced) and color (probably an instinctive mix of the two).

^This. I have always had trouble remembering which is which myself. They should give each a more unique name.

While the point has to be made that custom item sets and actually reading the item you are about to buy can get around this issue, they are really the only points that stand against making this change, and don't really successfully argue against it.

Colorblind mode has already been put into full effect elsewhere, this is the next logical step.

item sets suck.

I put SOOOOO much time into my item sets. Then items started changing. Items got removed. Items got nerfed, and I had to buy different items. Then season 5 came and all the items changed (especially the jungle ones).

At that point I gave up. I'll probably never make another item set. Too much work. And if you don't back them up they're POOF gone, because they're not saved on the server, they're saved in your game installation.

All my points still stand.

I've never had the problem of my item sets deleting themselves, in fact the only time they ever got deleted was when i got a new computer and i thought they WERE saved on the server.

I got a new computer just before season 5 started (Christmas).

And I thought to myself "Do I really want to take my item sets from my Mac installation and put them into my Windows installation when they probably won't even work on Windows anyway, AND the items are all changing in a week? lolno, fuck item sets"

Plus actually FINDING them on my mac was super annoying when I had to back them up to repair my client (which didn't actually do anything - the mac client is perma-broken)

You just reminded me those existed...

And just to point this out. if you know what they do, 95% of the items (actually all of them accept those 2 trinkets) are visually distinctive and you can distinguish them by their icon.

Exactly.

Definitely needed. I'm usually in a rush when I upgrade it, and I've gotten the wrong one a couple of times. =(
