What if Veigar's W gained extra effects while inside the cage?
So I saw a recently up voted Veigar thread, and remembered a much older one. Right now, there are a few notable problems with both old and new Veigar cage.
Now here's what I see about his cage: It used to be instantaneous. Creates a "no entry" zone around Veigar where if you are squishy and the Veigar player has the least bit of experience using their champ, you're probably going to die very, very soon. Not only this however, but his W almost relied on the ability in order to land. What this means is virtually anything you touch on Veigar's cage will lead to immediate and rather direct repercussions onto his meteor. We went from an unreliable W but a reliable cage that can set it up, to an unreliable cage and a near impossible to land W.
To put what I said about the problem into a solution, I think we need to rework his W in a way that makes it far less reliant on actually stunning people with the cage without making it completely obnoxious of an ability for any situation that doesn't directly involve stunning with the cage...so what if his W explodes when it lands within the cage?
Remember Ziggs Doombot? Or, more specifically, remember his Ultimate? Yeah, I'm talking about that sort of explosion. What if, instead of a single meteor strike for his W, any meteor that lands within the cage explodes into smaller pieces that very shortly after lands in the area around the first explosion? Within the relatively small area within the cage, such a type of skill would dominate the spacing within the cage, largely replacing the reliability that his W needs to be useful without making it obnoxiously overbearing by way of instantaneous targeting. It would also reinforce the gameplay ideal Riot appears to be trying for with his E (especially with them calling it a cage many times). Cages aren't known for their walls, they're known for keeping things trapped inside them. Doesn't it makes sense then to be trying to actively assault people that are within the page and not overemphasizing on trying to or trying not to touch the walls?
