On Mastery Rankings, Reworks, And M6/M7 Blue Essence

Should Champion reworks possibly refund the Mastery level along with a gift of essence? I am the not-so-proud owner of a Mastery 7 on that is completely meaningless now, because I earned it back when he had a little bird he threw at people, and it gives the wrong idea about my champion preferences, but it was very expensive for me to purchase in terms of IP/BE or whatever it was at the time.

Mastery 6 and 7 having a high blue essence cost if you're not lucky enough to have unlocked a shard feels really bad. I understand that it's not supposed to be trivial, but sitting on the earned tokens for weeks just feels obnoxious. Don't punish some players with an opportunity cost for doing well at the game while gifting others a leg up through RNG. If we can play a champion, please let us let our teammates know with the appropriate honors!
