Hardest at what?

Mechanics? Probably ADC Game control? Jungle Matchup knowledge/Dueling? Probably Top Doing something with nothing? Support Getting their preferred position? Probably Mid

Over all.

I do agree with your support statement tho.

ADC

While salty players who are losing to an adc will endlessly bring up the argument "u just right click get skill noob" it takes a lot of thinking and micromanaging to play at a reasonable level, if you don't plan out the fight and play it really well by dodging skillshots while maintaining a good position and constantly dpsing then unless your team is really fed you can count on losing that fight.

Not only does it require a lot of quick reaction and thinking but for a large portion of the game if not all of it, you have to rely on a totally different player who may not know your playstyle, what you're thinking, when to help you or how to help you etc.

Micromanaging and planning + trying to analyze how to work with your support at an effective level is pretty hard and overall I feel harder than all other roles with support coming second because they have to deal with almost the same things but play kind of more re-actively and not having as much micromanaging to do.

I can't ADC. No matter how hard I try.

I think its my lack of being able to CS properly and win trades. Either that or I always have a support that is so passive that they dont try to hook as Blitz or shield as Janna.

It requires a lot of being able to survive on your own, build according to the enemy, be able to handle enemies and not get caught.

Jungle, you have to deal with salty laners who get mad at you for not teleporting across the map to save them when they over extend and farming is more difficult so you are usually behind during early to mid game.

Haha... reading this reminded me of when I ran tp on Hecarim jungle. I had a game where right after I recalled at the end of my clear their jungler showed top, I tp'd while buying and turned the gank in to a double kill top lane. Good times. Thanks for the memory :)

support because you leave to ward and your adc is 0/21

support because you leave to ward and your adc is 0/21

If you're playing support and your adc is 0/21, you're probably doing something wrong

Depends on who's shagging who.

But seriously, I would have to say ADC.

Jungle and support.

It can take a while to learn how to swiftly and accurately identify competent allies (to assist and help carry) and toxic allies (to avoid when necessary) early in the game.

Athenes Lulu1 votes

Jungle:

  • A lot of tactical knowledge is required
  • Have to deal with whiny teammates
  • Some mechanical skill required, especially if you're ganking
  • A bad laner can fuck up a lane. A bad jungler can fuck up the entire team.
  • Have to deal with invasions and enemy junglers/laners camping in your jungle

Just scratching the surface, really.

Support is not that hard because you can literally have the reaction time of a potato, never land any skillshots, and still be 100% useful. I am one of those guys and can confirm.

ADC just don't have the "tactical knowledge" as a requirement to do well.

Mid and Top don't have much liabilities as compared to the Jungler's or ADC's. Fucking up plays as a solo laner isn't as harsh as fucking up plays as a jungler early on, or ADC later on.

doiminat0r36001 votes

See, it depends on the support you play. If its someone like soraka, all you gotta do is heal and press r. If youre someone like zilean, landing skillshots is crucial as well as tanking AA for your carry.

Athenes Lulu1 votes

I'd argue that things like Thresh/Blitz has to land skillshots to be 100% functional as supports, but talking about the bare minimums here.

Even if you're playing some "braindead" and anti-skillshot stuff like Xin or WW jungle, you still have to have man up just gank (and dodge the important skillshots), and just kill shit, and if you're a complete pussy, don't expect to do well as a jungler. Amumu is the "starter jungler"? Better land your Q's or else don't gank. Oh, you're a ranged jungler like Kindred or Fiddlesticks? Still have to man up and "lead" ganks, and not hide behind your teammates and hope something good happens.

I mean, you can always choose on who to play, so if you don't like manning up and/or has absolute garbage mechanical skills, just pick a backliner like Janna or something. But as a jungler, no matter who you choose, mechanical skill to some extent is still necessary.

doiminat0r36001 votes

This is true. Although, Janna does have some mechanical skills. The only support that doesn't is soraka. She is more of the 'my reactions are way too slow so i heal instead of shield' kind of champion. Janna and Braum specifically are the kinds of champions that defend the carry with a shield of some sort and that requires reaction time and skill. Especially knowing what to block with Braum.

Back when I was a Janna main, I used to be able to shield my carry from skillshots because I was so fast. I was also able to engage with a well placed tornado and a good flash ult combo (that didn't throw them in the other way).

Athenes Lulu1 votes

Except Soraka is now more reliant on having to land her Q's to actually stay in lane.

Lulu actually don't have to land perfect Glitterlances to be a 100% functional support, her supporting power lies in her polymorph, ult, and maybe well-timed shields that people somehow never uses.

Sona's ult is nearly instant, and is her only punishable spell if misused. Though even if she missed her ult, she can just tag along her teammates and spam W and Q, and still remain completely functional. Contrary to popular opinion, Sona's heals are actually not at all bad.

Janna... IMO she's just so overtuned that a click of E = almost instant win trades, no matter how badly timed. Or really, just anything she clicks and she does the job so well that her skillfloor might as well be underground.

doiminat0r36001 votes

As of recently, Soraka does.

Lulu is generally picked because of coordination rather than being picked for Solo Que. It's my mistake for excluding these other champions.

Sona arguably has enough base damage and scaling that if she misses her ult she could still damage the enemy severely or atleast slow them with a power chord E.

It's much harder to lose trades if you use E when the first skillshot flies or when your carry is being poked down. The entire rest of her kit (besides her W) can easily turn fights around (reguardless of who is winning). You can easily ult the low HP enemy carry away or use a tornado in the wrong direction and hit nobody and waste a cooldown.

Some of these comments talk about the disadvantages and unlucky moments of doing ______ role

But that isn't really getting to the question.

It depends on the season. This season I would say Utility Mages or Supports as they struggle to keep these sticky and mobile champions off their carries while being immobile themselves.

AstroFerrari 1 votes

jungle, you have the power to control the game and the map. You have to consistently be in the right place and the right time and know how to gank correctly with different champions. You have to have a good idea of where your enemy jgler is at all times, and movement rotation of other lanes (like mid going down to bot).

Jungle. Because every absolute thing is your fault.

Same thing happens with support m8. If your lane gets a kill: "GJ ADC". Hardly a thanks. Need to thank the jungler more often for ganks too.

That is a very good question.. I legit ask myself that question all the time and I have them pretty much ranked out ( in my opinion that is ) in the following way (DISCLAIMER, I AM NOT AN EXPERT, JUST A GOLDIE WITH AN OPINION):

  1. Top: I think top is the easiest postition (Its my favorite so no, I'm not just spiting poison here) to play because its basically all about being able to farm, and trade a bit here and there vs a single oponent, and all you have to worry about is warding to avoid being ganked. As long as you can last hit, keep track of the map and understand trading arcs, Top is a position you can manage. You can play carries, tanks, and even mages and adcs in top right now so really, any champion pool can fit it. The hardest thing about top in my humble opinion is knowing when and where to TP..

  2. Support: Support is a becoming more and more balanced when it comes to being meaningful (but not in total farm, rito fix pls). Not being the ''ward bitch'' they use to be, supports can now enjoy more diversified play styles. I think support is harder than Top simply because you need to synergise with your ADC, and in solo, we all know how frustrating that can be. You need to provide vision for your allies, roam with or without the jungler when your adc is shopping or farming safely undertower. Other points I think makes support complex are: Who to peel in teamfights, using your abilities at the right time to save allies, itemize properly vs hard cc, or burst, and also when it comes to vision, alot of people are oblivious to where they should be warding, and a well placed ward can make a big difference in the set up for a siege, or the taking of an objectives..

  3. Adc: Pretty much one of the simple tasks in the game: Kill people, and shoot at objectives. But the adcs struggle is similar to the support, because when playing solo, you are laning with a complete stranger that sometimes may seem to be on a completely different page. You need to keep track of 2 opponents that usually try their best to stop you from last hitting, given you can do that effectively. Something as stupid as not shoving your lane before leaving after a 2v2, wrong itemizing or inability to kyte. All this stuff can make one a bad adc. In fights, you need to focus the right target, since the adc is usually the dmg dealer for the team, if that said adc thinks gunning down a 550 armor malphite is the right thing to do, well, the game is over. In general I feel like carry roles require a little game knowledge, alot rests on their shoulders when it comes to taking objectives and such.

  4. Mid: I think mid is one of the harder because of how unforgiving the mid lane can be with no vision. Usually the lane where assassins and Yasuo hang out, mid laners need to develop a higher dueling skillset than most other positions, they need to ward, and keep track of where their own jungler is. Its comon knowledge that Mid laners are supposed to roam and keep track of the enemy mid laners movements. Roaming can be harder than it looks vs an alert enemy since a failed roam into gank can mean lost farm. In fights, a mid laner can play various roles either as back line peeler, initiator. Assassins are a complex class that requires a more calculated aproach to engages. Mages are about being positioned properly when heat rises, and a bad positioning can mean all that dmg your were supposed to deal is in the garbage bin.

  5. Jungle: I think junglers have it the hardest. The problem with jungling is that you need to be in certain places at the right times. You have to keep track of the other jungler, sometimes even having to guess his next moves, you need to keep track of obvjectives, where to gank next, what clear path to take to be in time for that gank/objective, you have to be mindful of invades, you need dueling skills in order to save yourself. Overall, a bad jungler can lose the whole team a game, same as a good jungler can win a game by snowballing every lane. Its all about understanding the game as a whole, knowing where to be next if this or that lane is pushing, or freezed, stuff like that. I think its the position that requires the most general understanding of the rift.

TL;DR:

Jungler
