Anyone ?

And no ... a pink does not counter her, it simply allows you to see yourself getting wrecked even more ...

Lulu was a solid counter with her true vision if she used her Help, Pix! on Akali, too bad that's been nerfed from 6 to 4 seconds. It's the nerf that I hate the most of all nerfs that there have been. I used to play her as support and didn't go mid with her.

I guess it an still work though. Use Help, Pix! on her and let the team kill her or if you can, kill her yourself.

Ahri Brand Fiddlesticks Galio Lissandra Malzahar Mordekaiser Ryze Syndra Veigar

Long Dong Wukong1/12/2015, 3:20:36 PM3 votes

Morde shits on her, her damage is too spread out.

Anything that can keep damaging her in her shroud, so DoT champions, Wukong, Garen, Lee Sin, etc etc etc.

Pink Wards(no, I'm not trolling. Any decent elo match people are going to pop pink wards in Akali shrouds)

She isn't going to build tank, so if your team plays properly you're going to kill her occasionally even if she's fed.

Any person who is able to poke her early, or counter her engage, or be smart enough to realize Akali has to use her full combo at LEAST twice to do anything early.

Grab a pink ward and some potions. Go to lane, CS while harassing Akali at your leisure because you're most likely going to have a much better harass game than her pre-6.

When she hits six and ults you, then drops shroud, drop your pink right in the middle, you can now see Akali, feel free to blow everything you have on her and make her regret the day she was born.

Counterplay is when you actively play to counter someone, buying a pink isn't counter play, dropping it in her shroud and blowing her squishy butt up is.

AP Nasus. It's fun, tanky, poking from a distance and a burning sensation with his ult. Also: Stack q, even though you max e. Friend of mine tried it in some rankeds. Worked wonders.

Wheatloaf1/12/2015, 3:35:12 PM1 votes

Play Malzahar. Take exhaust. Proceed to take none of her shit.

MrSc0tty1/12/2015, 3:41:53 PM1 votes

A good support player. Seriously. When I see Akali on the enemy team I just go "Welp it's lulu time"

Or thresh time. Or Blitz time. Or Nami time. Any of them work really. And I know that no matter how fed the enemy Akali gets (or any non-fizz assassin really. Nobody can deal with fizz), I will be able to totally nullify them with 0 CS and 0 kills. Pretty great.

Here's an example. Akali goes in to burst down a buddy of mine. I squirrel her, she gets beaten on, she shrouds. I ult my teammate, popping her neatly out of the shroud and removing them from any danger, then help pix her so she can't get back into the shroud, then Q her to slow and she's pretty much toast whether she's 0/10 or 10/0

Basically, a lot of non meta champs counter her. A lot of people have already said guys like Morde and Malz, and those two are some of the best (both are great anti assassins). Basically, anybody who can survive her burst, bully her hard pre 6, and optimally can also CC and counterburst her. Annie is also probably good with a tankier build (like ROA), because she can farm with Q, has a frequent stun, and plenty of burst and early lane power. Also, if against an Akali, always take exhaust. Even if she doesn't get bullied hard, exhaust counters her burst and makes her squishier because of its resist shred.

If she goes top, bruisers like Garen and Nasus do well against her in my experience.

XxRonaldoxX71/13/2015, 3:07:58 PM1 votes

Bruh , Irelia OP v AKali easy to snowball in lane at top , everytime she tries to do anything w+e+Q or +q+e+W , also can get a pink for extra vision if she tries to get away under tower or in shroud.Irelia

Blade of Justic1/12/2015, 5:21:32 PM1 votes

Xerath can use his W to hit her in her Twilight Shroud. If she jumps at you, E her and go under tower. Q her while she's trying to farm.

Malzahar can bully just about anyone out of lane.

Drunk Rummate1/12/2015, 7:11:25 PM1 votes

she's honestly not that tough to beat. i play Ahri and just 1 shot her with charm combos since her ult brings her at you in a straight line.

Anomander1/12/2015, 7:14:11 PM1 votes

Diana... both q and w deal nice aoe while she is shrouded and the shield allows you to survive her burst while she explodes to a full diana combo

Heck even auto attacking a minion will proc the aoe passive which I have killed akali with

Keevalroy1/12/2015, 7:19:09 PM1 votes

You're level 9...you obviously aren't regurgitating what bronze players are spewing out because they don't know what a pink ward is. Nope not at all.

SmokingPuffin1/12/2015, 7:21:09 PM1 votes

I don't really think you need to counterpick Akali to beat her. I play my usual Ahri Syndra Orianna against her and expect to win without much difficulty. Just put pressure on her early, take level 6 advantage, and win the lane from there.

If that's not working for you, there are plenty of counterpicks. Here's some of my favorites:

  • I really like Diana in the matchup, because similar damage output and enough tanky that Akali never wants to go on you.
  • Kayle is also appealing because her QE makes it really hard for Akali to CS, and of course R is amazing against any burst champion.
  • Annie really enjoys the matchup because stun into bear is all kinds of good and shroud does nothing against bear.
  • Malzahar is probably the hardest counter. Pre-6 she can barely CS at all, post-6 she gets her power spike and then gets faceplanted by his ult.
WARLAG01/12/2015, 7:44:41 PM1 votes

Galio you might have trouble early since she works with energy, but with chalice it should even out, you should be able to win every all-in she attempts

Duobyte1/13/2015, 11:24:56 PM1 votes

Just ban her in banning phase or inject her cancer in your bloodstream. There is a 0.00001% chance that you will get immunity to her, but if you fail you will be an Akali main for the rest of your life.

Nubeel1/12/2015, 2:41:08 PM1 votes

Malzahar can just drop his W and ult her when she shows herself and even if she's in her shroud it wont cancel your ult. That should kill her.

Lee can build tanky and still kill her. He also makes her shroud useless.

Galio is good because he can build nothing but MR and thanks to his passive have a large amount of AP. His ult also forces her out of her shroud.

Karma's W reveals stealth and her Mantra Q hits most of Akali's shroud.

Kat outdamages her and You can ult even if she's in stealth and Akali will die.

Lux can sit 10 miles away and hit her with her spells and has a nice shield if Akali gets to close. She can also snare her ass.

But the best counter of all is good map awareness, ward control and comunication. Anyone and I mean anyone can wreck Akali in lane. What makes her bad is how snowbally she is. She will lose lane and try to roam. But what if you had wards and saw where she's roaming. You pinged and your lanes backed off. Now Akali just lost farm and EXP and is now behind instead of ahead.
