Does nasus naturally outscale Darius in lane?

Rivuo··2 votes·1,296 views

I was beating the dude up extremely hard, mind you ive had about 50 games on Nasus, and 150+ on darius. i dont come across nasus for like 2-3 months now but damn dude.

I think i went 3-1 on him and i had ignite. He went sheen, ninja tabi, avarice blade and i had a 30 cs lead on him finished black cleaver merc treads and getting armor.

It honestly felt like shit, He withered me and i tried to do my full combo but nope, couldnt get a Q heal off, i managed to get my 5 stacks extremely easy but by the time ( 3-4 seconds ) i was already at about 30-40% health. His ult felt like it made him a god tank regen 100 hp per second.

Boom i was dead, a darius with ignite. I ended up coming back to lane and killing him but thats because he didnt have ult and i didnt have ignite. But damn dude

idk i felt like i played extremely well, i got first tower blood and whatnot but it felt like shit after a while even with my lead.

He had 1 infernal drag but i dont know if that counts for anything

umm avarice blade doesnt exist anymore? it was removed in patch 5.22.. although executioners calling looks very similar to it.

Yes im sorry. Executioners calling. Lets completely ignore the whole post now because of a mistype good idea.

Well seeing as avarice blade and executioners calling do two completely different things, the argument in your post could have just been invalidated.

There was a few very informative replies that had obviously read mine thoroughly.

Some people who knew what i was talking about instantly knew what i ment and instead went on as if there was no mistake.

Could have just said ''Executioner calling**''

Any other post is just a waste of time and obvious troll.

The real question is why build exec calling against nasus? His sustain lane phase isnt particularly oppressive, and his sustain hitting champions who have armor (like you) is laughable.

I never built an exec calling. I said he built one

Even better, fuck his face in for wasting gold.

Actually, given you complained about not getting your heals, calling your attention on Executioner Calling was exactly the right thing to do. Do you remember what this item do? Ah, yes, it stops healing.

Now, do you understand why your fight didn't go well?

you can't really 1v1 nasus after a certain point of stacks. you can stack armor but that might backfire if they have a heavy ap

you are way better in teamfights tho so once nasus starts to outscale you just group and force him to follow when you 5v4 push objectives

Yeah thats exactly what happened.

I had more team fight presence while he was trying to split push we ended up winning a 4v5.

But yeah idk it felt like shit a darius with ignite losing with a big lead too.

Big Lincoln1 votes

that's pretty much what nasus does. he's god-tier 1v1 when he has huge stacks, and he'll wreck you hard in anything less than a 5v5, but assuming u have a good front line and a good support he shouldn't be able to do much b/c he sucks at killing other tanks and he shouldn't be allowed to get on the carries

if you really wanna make it a little easier i suggest getting QSS and merc scim later on. it only cleanses wither once but if you can use that time to get 5 stacks you should be able to fight him off

Nasus outscales anyone if you let him.

It is sort of his thang.

Dong Huap gave the best piece of advice on Nasus: Don't try to kill Nasus, kill his team instead. He only wants to sit in toplane farming his stacks and 1v1'ing or 1v2'ing people that try to stop him. So just go after the rest of his team and win the 4v5s.

The answer to this is: it depends. TL;DR at the end.

It is completely depends on the Nasus player's itemization route.

In case you didn't know, the changes to his ultimate granting him flat and stacking resistances while using it. This has actually made it much easier for Nasus to duel Darius earlier than he use to.

From levels 1-5 prior the first back you have an advantage over Nasus.

Prior the recent changes to Nasus, Darius had a clear advantage over Nasus at level 6 before either of them had items.

Currently: I believe, Nasus has the upper hand at 6 before either of you back, because he will get free resistances while he ults. So unless he is low and you get 5 stacks, you shouldn't really fight him if neither of you have backed.

Now after first back and maybe after the second (levels 8-9) if Nasus does not build ANY health post 6, you should have an advantage. A smart Nasus will recognize a few things, Darius' ultimate does true damage so Nasus should build damage to kill darius before he gets stacks OR he will need to build health to mitigate your ultimate's true damage or he will have some combination of damage and health early in the game.

E.G. If Nasus has this in his inventory: item 3067 item 3057 item 3024 some combination of those items or this item 3057 item 1029 item 3067 he can kill you unless you get 5 stacks on him early and you poke him down low.

If he has this item 3082 item 1001 item 3024 or item 3025 item 1001 or this item 3110 item 1001 you should be able to kill the Nasus. At this stage in the game his stacks are not high enough probably without sheen to kill you AND he is not building anything to account for you true damage by going armor.

In the mid game:** Prior the changes,** I actually thought Darius out scaled Nasus, well in terms of utility and situationally in fights. It was largely a skill based match-up: if Darius kept the fight going longer he would win and if Nasus avoided the skill shots and didn't take too many bleed early in the fight he would win- the short the fight the better for him.

In the mid game after you have some items and get a little tanky with some damage you would be able duel nasus IF the duel was long AND he didn't have a lot of stacks - say level around levels 12-14.

Currently: At these levels Nasus should beat the shit out of Darius. The second point into his ultimate AGAIN give him more free resistances AND if he has item 3065 you will lose the fight, because he has enough health to definitely kill you. I don't think it is a skill match-up the same way it use to be. Darius will get pummeled if they stand their and duel each other without any assistance.

Now I am still experimenting in the Darius match-up because I was use to NOT winning those fights as often and being a little scared of Dueling Darius. I am noticing with the stacking resistances I am SUPER durable if I have some health, damage a little bit of armor.

TL;DR - The changes to Nasus has made him MUCH stronger against Darius at different points in the game where Darius had a bit of an edge prior. If the Nasus players builds health, damage, and some armor he will beat Darius almost every time. If we assume that he stacks adequately throughout the game.

Nasus outscales almost everyone in a pure laning scenario.

There will come a point where your damage will be blunted and/or he will be able to easily kill you.

It's why people hate the champion so much.

avarice blade is not an item anymore, it's been changed to executioner's calling which applies grevious wound.

I don't think a darous with black cleaver can lose 1v1 against nasus with sheen and executioner's calling unless the nasus had been free stacking, you probably just played it very poorly.

No i dont think i played it poorly thats why im here. If i knew i played it poorly i wouldnt be asking. I went 3-0 i think and eventualy he just started smashing me and there was nothing that could be done. The regen was too much even with a auto-q-w-auto

Nasus with those items has 0 bonus hp. Your darius with ignite can cut his lifesteal. your blackcleaver and w can shred his armor.

On paper it doesn't sound like you swill lose. Does the Nasus have like 200 stacks without even completing an item?

Like, as Darius you can get 5 stack passive by aa w aa E aa Q, it doesn't seen like he would be able to chunk 60-70% of your hp in that short of a time frame.

Nasus with those items has 0 bonus hp.

Actually when nasus ults at level 1 he gains 300 health So.

Your darius with ignite can cut his lifesteal.

Yes, But the lifesteal is still half there, also when you are withered as darius, its easy to walk up to the darius and not let him ever get the Q heal off.

your blackcleaver and w can shred his armor.

w doesnt shred armor, it applies a stack of black cleaver yes.

Yes you get the 5 stack passive but just because you can get a w-auto-q-auto-e-auto or any of that arrangement doesnt mean you are necessarily going to do damage... He still has lifesteal that will eat up some of your skills.

Let alone you arent getting your full Q damage off, and odds are you are maxing E instead of W after Q for the armor pen % so the cd on ur w is longer.

The Deckowner1 votes

Nasus Ult was changed recently(last patch or so) so that it gives armor and mr instead of hp.

Yes wither will slow you but to get in range of it he probably needs to take a Q in the face first which should %%%%% like a fifth of his hp.

the armor pen is not on his w but e instead? i might have remembered it incorrectly then mb.

The thing is you SHOULD out damage him even with his lifesteal and shit, cause you gain so much ad from your passive and ult true damage execute can kill him from around 30%hp. He doesn't even have a phage or anything and he probably maxed e second cuz you were pressuring him early, the wither shouldn't be that strong to the point where you can't do anything about it, esspecially with merc thread.

Ravenous Howls1 votes

To your OP, yes Nasus out scales anyone in lane and anyone but a fed ADC late game if built properly.

The thing is Darius does not counter Nasus. Darius is all about doing high damage early to mid game with his passive bleed and his decent AD ratios on his abilities. Attacking Nasus get your minion aggro and pushes the wave. Using decimate in his minions push the wave. These are all the things Nasus wants. I want you to push me into my tower where I will heal up and last hit with ease. I typically rush IBG vs Darius because 2800 gold is cheaper than 3400 gold. By the time you have BC I will have Tabi and kindlegem. I am now tanky as hell, have a decent chunk of health and the speed to make you waste your grab and you can no longer burst me before I kill you without significant help.

Your best chance to win this match up is a level 2 cheese with ignite. Just remember though if you can't make several kills on Nasus after the first one the above will happen regardless and you will still lose the lane. Also Ignite becomes significantly worse the longer a game goes by so it may be better to run TP/FL in the long run.

If you ever fight a good Nasus he won't split push all game or buy an executioner calling against you. He will probably build item 3025 item 3065 item 3111 or item 3047 item 3512 item 3742 and item 3053 or item 3748 He will have massive team presence and be almost impossible to kill or burst.
