My JG Trist run down; a question on her potential as a jungler?
So this is 100% a legitimate question because I really see the potential in this, though have never actually jungle'd outside of bot games.
But who I want to question on is Trist jg.
Her Q is a no cost attack speed increase, which is a huge help for early game life steal sustain, her W is great for both traveling and avoiding damage (plus, the on-hit slow makes it great for a surprise gank if executed properly), her E is great for jungle camp clear as well as it goes on turrets for a bit extra damage. On top of all that, her ult is basically the best knockback for feeding an enemy to your laners. (As well as her ult can be used on JG monsters.)
As I said, I've only messed with this in bots, but the jungle clear is still the same. (Usually I don't take a leash (cause too often they take my xp), so my path clear is based on solo perspective.)
I get
,
x3, and
to start, leveling E first.
Head to Krugs; when they spawn, E on the small one, instant smite on the large one. AA the large one to get the stun and then kill the small one. (Usually I take a single health pot there if I have no leash.) Then kill the large one and level Q.
From here, if you had a proper leash, you can take Red Buff if you properly manage your stun from the Krug, your smite for the health, and probably take another health pot.
If you didn't have a leash, go to Razorbeaks after Krugs. You should be on hit 4 or 5 for your stun, so same process as before; E on the middle small one, stun the big one. Take a health pot and finish off the small ones, eventually killing the large one. (Keep on eye on your stun! Try to hit the large monster of a camp while it is up every time you can! It will save you from taking a bunch of unneeded damage.)
After you clear that camp, depending on your health, you may want to go kill the scuttle on your end of the river to regain HP. Then go take Red Buff; manage your stun, smite for heal.
Finishing the first half is the hard part; once you've got your red buff, just go to the wolves and kill them, then smite on gromp and kill it, finish your clear and recall home. (JG Trist really does not need mana, so leave your blue buff to offer your mid laner in due time.)
Once back, you'll finish your jg item,
, likely buy boots, and the healing source of your choice from there.
You will want to build
as soon as possible for additional life steal. You should have enough sustain to keep up a steady jg from there, just that beginning clear can be tricky. After, finish your jungle item and then build Trist basically however you normally would.
As a jungle Trist, I feel you mostly want to focus on objectives. Your objective taking ability (turrets, dragon, herald, baron) is one of the strongest in the game; meaning you hold 100% the ability to change the outcome of a game after every team fight, so staying alive is a must!
Tips, tricks, and facts about Trist JG;
- Focus leveling Q as it is your main focus for sustain on life steal. With JG monsters slow attack rate, you gain faster than they hit.
- DO NOT use your E for ganks on the enemy if you're trying to feed your lane. More often then not, it takes the kill.
- Knowing proper W usage can be great for getting assists as well as just apply a nice slow for your laner. Because of this, I try to keep W lower leveled till late game to keep the damage output low.
- JG Trist can solo the dragon at level 6/7 under the right conditions.
- Objectives, objectives, objectives~ I cannot hammer in enough how much you can force a lane back into your team's favor with your E's passive on split pushing and your Q to take turrets.
- You are still an ADC, you're still very squishy; dying isn't a very hard task is what I'm getting at. Playing a little safer at times never hurt anyone.
- Sometimes you need to remember you are still Trist. Which means, at times, you need to be the first to bravely volunteer to charge in recklessly. Enemy is capping baron? Let's go grab that steal~ W in, E down, Q like there is no tomorrow; ult to secure the kill if you really want to.
That is all for now though, since this went on massively larger than I ever intended when I started making this post. I honestly though feel Trist could make for a decent jungler. An ADC in the jungle isn't exactly the most uncommon. Granted, those champs you do see are more geared towards the jungle, that doesn't mean we can't make an expectation. :33
Anyways, thank you to all those who took the time to read this all over and reply. Hopefully there is some potential here at least, and I'm not just making another post that'll get down voted to no end. '.' x3
