New Sion

There was alot of hype about how awesome and strong this champion was going to be. In the past 13 games I've played so far I've seen every one fail miserably and give the excuse of "too clunky" or "kit doesnt synergize". Alot of people are saying the sion rework was just a nerf because AP Sion was too strong in high level play. WHo knows. Imo the Champion is garbage.

Give people time to figure him out. Everyone's still experimenting what's good on him, what isn't, and so on.

Lucian was supposedly unplayable at release, then someone figured out a build that works, and now he's a top-pick ADC.

If you watch any of the gameplay that people posted on youtube the first couple days he was released on PBE, you will see they were all absolutely horrible, doing everything from full AD to full AP and everything in between. Skip forwards a week or two, and suddenly ever video of him he crushes everyone. He is very clunky to learn, but he will probably get really good within a few weeks, in comparison to champs like Azir, Gnar, Yasuo etc.

Old Sion was clunky. AD Sion was unplayable almost and even when he was he had 2 abilities that were useful to him. One was a constant passive and the other required you to click a button once... For a passive. He could almost play without the keyboard. Sure I guess he had the stun, but he only needed one point in that to be useful. He could easily end with most of his point unspent and be largely the same.

AP Sion was good, but had some big design flaws. Why would AP Sion ever care about his ult? He didn't. He almost didn't even care about the E either, but took it last to gain some health. He could easily end the game with 3-8 unspent ability points and be largely the same. Not to mention one of his abilities was a point and click stun, which they are moving away from.

Old Sion passive was also completely random and totally invisible. When did you ever go "whew, that passive saved my life"? Never. You couldn't even tell when it did anything. There was no indication it was ever used. At very least Fizz's is constant so you know it's doing something.

The health scaling is nice on his W, his ult is interesting in a good way, and his passive is a good idea although it needs tweaking. His E, while nice in that Sion now has a skill shot, pointlessly scales on AP. And the range is pretty bad for it being a skill shot. His Q is absolutely abysmal. It is the definition of clunky and slow.

Yes, Sion may need a buff.

It's too early to say. It's the first damn day. Azir is crazy strong and he'll be a top pick when people figure out how to play him. Probably the same with Sion.
