Dear Riot: PLEASE FIX THE RANKED LP SYSTEM!

There is nothing that I hate more than going into a ranked game of LoL and wanting to have a good time and maybe gain a little LP in the process but then when I get into the game someone either rage quits or trolls or just has terrible internet and we lose the game because of it. These things happen to everyone, I get it, BUT WHY AM I LOSING LP FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY OUT OF MY CONTROL?!?!. It is straight up bullshit that I go from 19 LP back down to 0 because I get put into a 4v5. The solution to this is simple, make the AFKer lose LP but let that persons team lose 0! Make. This. Happen. I just got promoted to silver rito, if i get demoted because of another AFK I'm going to be infuriated. FIX. THIS.

So if I'm queuing with someone and we're losing, I should leave the game so that my team doesn't lose an LP and only I who doesn't care about my LP, lose it?

There are so many situations where what you're proposing could be abused. Also there's 5 players on the enemy team that can potentially disconnect, rage quit and afk while there should only be 4 on yours seeing as you're not part of that group. So to quote Hunger Games "May the odds ever be in your favor."

I do agree with you. I feel like the AFK/Troll should lose LP and not your team, but there could be some iffy flaws to this.

Not saying that the rest of the team shouldn't lose LP from the loss, but possibly at the stat screen, if a player AFKs or Trolls, and is found guilty through the reporting system for either/or, a solution could be to subtract an equal amount (16-18) LP from them as an additional penalty. I know this wont really solve the issue of losing the game in general, but if people know that there is a risk of not only being subject to time delays to queue, but also LP penalties for AFK/Trolling, they may think twice about doing so. This of course would involve Riot being more on top of the reporting system.
