Yoricks ghouls interaction towards damage?

So the new yoricks ghouls are pretty weak or so i thought when i was laning against him. My dinky 80 damage gnar autos one shotted them, but when i went to all in him and used r and q( already used w for gaurantee no flash from ult) they didnt die and they killed me with him living at 50 hp. So how do these guys health work, because surviving a gnar ult and q is pretty ridiculous.

Due to their squishy nature, his ghouls (like Malz's Voidlings) have AOE resistance. This means they take reduced damage from anything that isn't single-target (such as auto-attacks or Tahm Q). I'm not certain on how they interact with DOT and re-applied effects though off the top of my head (such as Malz E and Morgana W).
