I've been playing a lot of support, and Ezreal is picked constantly. He usually then proceeds to be completely worthless in the "damage carry" department. It's very frustrating. Do other support mains see the same thing?
I've started to think I should just ban Ezreal so my own team can't pick him, but it's not really my style to do so.
It depends on the player. Ezreal is one of those odd carries where he can do a ton of damage, but I feel like most people don't know how to do it (I know I don't).
I had a game as support where my ADC picked Ez and I picked Nami cause we needed some peel from Rengar. He told me to take E first and max it. I was kinda skeptical but figured I'd try it and if it doesn't work out I'll just go back to maxing heal. He actually single handedly won bot lane, a feat I haven't seen before with an ADC. Normally the support is the reason that bot wins or why your carry is doing good, but all I had to do was put E on him and he would dodge Blitz hooks and stuff and put both enemy laners down to 200 health from full if not fully kill one of them.
Strangest game of my life but he certainly knew what he was doing even if he did over extend a few times and die. If I get an Ez like that, I don't mind cause he knows how the play the champ. If I get an Ez that spends all his mana on Qs, misses everything, and then blames me when the enemy engages and he doesn't have mana to E away, then yeah, it's frustrating.
I don't groan, unless they're not using Arcade/Pulsefire.
Here's a list of adc's that make me groan as a guy who secondaries support
- worthless for 30 minutes
- worthless pretty much all game unless they're int'ing
- doesn't ever use ult, doesn't ever kite properly with passive leap, it's kalista
- People still think he's an ADC - AP kogmaw or btfo
- FOTM ADC and people still feed their ass off
I don't have strong feelings one way or another.
What he supposedly lacks in damage, he makes up in his ability to GTFO when it hits the fan.
They may not get many kills but rarely get killed either. [zombie-brand-clap]
We are quite content to let Ezrael off the leash.

its like just be safe and farm and get through your power spike on your build and then mid game start to do something.

I only groan if I see that same Ezreal blink into a terrible position in a fight such as in the enemy's face before they used any of their CC.
Only when they get trash canned in lane, buy a tear on their first back and continue trying to trade blows with the enemy
there is a learning curve
then again
thats why you play on tt when learning champs
I don't care much. I just don't like bad adc's that are toxic.
Like just now I played a Blind Game as Thresh. We were up against another Thresh (LOL BLIND PICK U SO BAD, KILL ME NOW) and an Ez.
You just couldn't hook the bastard.
Ez may not be the killiest ADC, but he is damn safe.
I don't even support and I groan when an ezreal is picked on my team. Basically he's either a god or I'll be dealing with a 4v5.
