A slightly ranty post about tahm kench(and about non meta picks)

And this is not to be shitting on the Tahm Kench player, he wasn't bad at the game and would have been able to beat me on a neutral playing field. He just had the worst start possible and went on to come back from it without really doing anything special because of that champion. It baffles me that riot games seems to completely ignore him because it is something new.
And it is not that I don't understand it.Whenever anything off meta pick becomes extremely popular(becoming meta) it is often kept in because it is interesting for a game to see if there is something worth salvaging. Often it leads to important changes that now are considered meta.
- The jungler was considered off meta by riot for a while.
- Entire subclasses of support and jungler exist because riot let champs experiment.
But they need to be somewhat selective in what they allow in my opinion. I have included what I considered a good off meta that became meta pick that existed around for a while and an example of a bad one.
Good off meta to meta, Annie support
in season 2 and 3 Annie support became a thing. Before this supports were considered a true boring role, you build one item like heart of gold, a Philosopher's Stone and some other passive gold generation and became an attachment to your adc for the rest of the game, trying to reach late game items within 4 hours.
Annie support nuked that meta out of existence with a fuck you ADC mentality that existed of burning down an enemy character within a few seconds. She basically had the impact of a tank support from a safe distance. It was frustrating to play against and was kinda hated, but it was an indicator of a bigger problem, that all other supports were really kinda boring to play and felt unsatisfying. Their decision to not nerf Annie too hard improved diversity on bot lane and forced them to buff other supports in order to deal with the annie. Even if they had nerfed annie, it would just be another apc with cc that would take her role.
##Bad example ziggs adc Adding an apc in the carry roll was an interesting experiment, considering he basically played as an ap adc already. The problem was however that this new meta wasn't a new take on bot lane, it was just an incredibly overloaded character that was good as a pusher and replaced adc's purely on op rating.

I feel like tahm kench is just like the bad examples of off meta becoming meta picks. A pick that solely exist because the stats are so high that you cannot counter him. He exist there purely to delete the fun out of a lane without any hard counters. He should be nerfed and I beg riot games to please do something about him.
