[Tips for laners - Jungler perspective] Very displeased jungler...
EDIT:
Here's the video transcript: - Sorry if my voice is too much to listen to for almost 40 mins. I go a bit further in depth into things within the post.

No TL;DR, because all of it is important and you should learn these things IF you feel like you have the worst experience with jungle players as a lane player.
Disclaimer: I know this is kind of a rant, but at the same time I tried to keep it educational. I can't be teaching people all of this in team chat because it simply comes across as being "toxic" unfortunately and it gets very frustrating to keep repeating the same things every game.

So I've finally been able to get a better hang of the new jungling. Swapping out some of my offensive runes into more sustain/survivability ones and mainly picking that trail blazer
for the best survibability. Clearing it and knowing my limits with w/e champ i pick all nicely BUT, I'm having the worst experience with laners.
Here is a list of common issues that have been the same for ever:
-
people don't ward.
- IF they ward AND see the enemy jungler (wait for it...) THEY STILL OVER EXTEND.
-
People over extending.
- Even if they were just ganked a second ago, they think "oh the gank is over, the jungler won't come right back" <-- apparently this is logical.
-
They ask for ganks but they don't keep track of minion waves.
- What I mean by this, there's about 8 - 15 enemy minions and 1 wave inc, only 3 of our minions left and 1 wave incoming. For those who dont know - EVEN IF the enemy is over extending this is NOT a favorable situation to gank in.
-
They do horrible in lane and expect you (key word expect, as in, IT'S YOUR JOB) to clean up after them. I'll elaborate with some examples:
-
They get counter-picked, in lane and still play like they're the one's who counter-picked their opponents. They play extremely aggressive and fail/feed.
-
They get poked down heavily (any mid vs ziggs for example but it happens with a lot of champs) and stay in lane and die right under turret.
-
They're at 20% health, their lane opponent is completely healthy but they ask for a gank right there and then when they don't have the capability to do the damage needed nor survive whatever the enemy throws at them.
-
They screwed up (it happens to the best of us) and do not play accordingly. For example:
- They don't itemize properly (Ninja tabi's + sunfire cape vs a vladimir or ryze top or build MR vs a wukong)
- They don't wait for you to come by for a gank.
- They keep building FULL AD/AP and no defensive items
- They don't buy potions
-
They're not aware how the new jungle works:
- XP is much lower.
- Jungle creeps hit like a truck.
- Respawn timers are much longer.
- Red and Blue buffs don't last as long as they used to.
- It's much harder to catch up if you fall behind as a jungler. I can't tell you how many times mid or top are level 5-6 when I try to gank and I'm only level 3-4 due to having to go B right after the third camp.
-
THE DRAGON IS SUPER IMPORTANT NOW, IF YOUR JUNGLER IS NOT CALLING FOR THE TEAM TO GO DO DRAGON, TELL HIM, WE HAVE TO DO DRAGON!
- The dragon buff(s) can now turn the tables easily with the bonus damage/MS and pushing power it can give.
- Keep track of it's timer and call it out 1 min before respawn if at all possible.
- When your jungler calls for team to do dragon - GO HELP HIM! Unless he/she has superb sustain, they cannot solo it even at high levels!
- When I say go help him, I don't mean 1 or 2 people, I mean ALL 5 if at all possible. Don't let your team leash for your enemy team. Losing dragon and giving up a couple of kills in the process will lose the game.
-
BEST TIPS I CAN GIVE YOU FOR YOU TO DO AS A LANER IF YOU WANT GANKS: Also, some jungler's dont even know these things. (These should be common knowledge but from my experience, they're not)
1 **Try to poke the enemy down while avoiding damage. **
- Rule of thumb/indicator should be potions left in the inventory. If you've made them use their pots and you've barely used yours, you have lane advantage.
- If you're countered in lane and have the advantage, but don't feel like you can still take the kill, then set up for and ask for a gank.
- How to poke EFFICIENTLY
- (mentioned in #2) Keep enemy minion waves smaller than yours.
- Punish your enemy when he/she tries to last hit.
- Exploit bad positioning. (Example: MAKE SURE YOUR BUSH IS WARDED BEFORE DOING THIS - You see the enemy going to ward that bush, get a couple of hits in and step back.
2 Set up for a gank (c'mon man, at least throw me a bone) HOW TO SET UP FOR A GANK:
- follow #1 by poking down w/o taking a lot of damage.
- Don't over extend.
- Get your lane opponent to over extend.
- Try to keep enemy minion waves smaller than yours. This may also help you survive ganks and a lot more than often results on you winning a 2v1.
- IF you feel like you can pull off a "play" try and bait your opponent to screw up. I know there's a very fine line between baiting and being a retard, but if it works, it works #wurf
I hope this helps.
Please comment as a jungler what your experience has been. I've had some good games I won't lie but at the same time, I see the same things over and over in my bad ones. I'm at a point where I don't want to jungle anymore for a long while until people get their act together. Solo queue only keeps getting harder and harder to solo carry even if you're fed.
Please comment as a laner and what your experience with junglers has been like. Tell us how we can do better for you.
So it NEEDS be warded. at every single moment early game. Until you get the timer.
