[@Riot Balance Team] Before Talon Nerf's go un-noticed...

Heyo, I know what is on the PBE is never final but i saw that his Silence is being completely removed and replaced with a 99% slow for .1 second (Which is a joke if you have anything over 80 MS).

That's a very big hit. Will anything be done in order to compensate for this?

What direction are you guys trying to go with him? (I'd like something more than a just "he needs to be nerfed")

I know he's strong but by no means he's unbeatable.

Oh no, Talon, too me, is one of the very few champions that require hard skill to play. If they "nerf" talon, then they should go ahead and do the same with Yasuo, who is increasingly more difficult to deal with.

I hope not. Talon is uncounterable once he got farmed a bit: he can throw all his skills + hydra without time for reaction unless is already too late, and in lane he can get an absurd advantage for the same reasons even without too many items, while his lane is garbage if he does not manage to kill. Plus consider Leblanc' s silence removal and that they want to remove most of all hard CC's from assassins, and with assassins i mean champions with very high burst.

Probably they will compensate in some way, probably not. Probably the latter, since Talon is rather toxic and feast and famine and would take too much time to deliver a balance, so they put him down then back him up later, or maybe they are waiting for player feedback after they gather the results.

I see the point in removing the silences from these champs in particular though. Talon is able to do his full combo and either get the kill or ult away, you remaining silenced until he uses his ult and by then he's untargetable. Give him enough of a window to engage and you either die or watch him walk away at near full health while you have to recall (unless you're a tank). Leblanc was in a slightly less overbearing position before her silence was removed, but still a similar situation. She was able to pop her sigil of silence with her dash, then reactivate it immediately to return to safety before you get the chance to take damage. Her E kept people in place pretty well unless they had a dash or blink available, keeping them available for her full combo, but still not a point and click silence that could be used every engage with little risk as Talon seemed to have. Then there's the entire idea behind assassins, that they burst someone down with their full combo. Let them get ahead and their ability to kill you is limited only by the range of their engage. The change from a silence to a slow makes his presence a little less overbearing, but I will admit that a slow for .1 seconds is a little questionable.

I'm sure (hope) they are just tentative changes that will be reverted, thrown into the recycling bin and never come back!

Very unlikely. It made his kill combo too easy to land, and had no counterplay.

The difference between Talons silence and LB and Kass silence is that they both had range, and have an escape. For Talon, his "escape" is his silence, which places him right in the middle of the enemy team. If they remove the silence completely, then champions he should be able to kill (ie Annie, Lux, Caityln, Lucian, Graves, Cass, Malz, etc) will be able to escape or kill him instead. And the 0.1 second slow isn't even enough time to get an auto off, so it wont trigger his passive for any extra damage. I feel that reducing the silence to 0.5 seconds would be a much "safer" nerf.

Going against many Talons, his ult is his escape, not his silence.

His Silence put him in a perfect position to do his kill combo, THEN use his Ult to escape and/or finish them off. And considering how a lot of Talons can pull his combo off very quickly, you couldn't do a thing about it.

A lot of assassin Champions have had their silence removed over time, Kassadin and LeBlanc are the first to come to mind. I believe that riot decided on this nerf because if a Talon gets ahead, the silence makes it nearly impossible to escape because you cannot use any spells or SS before the silence is over. With the movement speed decrease, it is hoped that you can still escape, but you will have to burn something other than a movement speed increase spell and run away.

The Talon Nerf definitely did not go unnoticed.

Isn't the very definition of an assassin to kill someone before they can react? Better take the reset off Trist W. Nerf Akali stacks to 2, and reduce the charm duration on Ahri. An ahri charm into a full combo is worse IMO, because even if she doesn't kill you before the charm wears off, she just ults and chases you down.

Let Assassins Assassinate, that is there job. Let them do there job.
