Need an AP QSS

why does QSS only build into ?

Squishy AP carries also need the cleanse from time to time, but mercurial is just not a good item on AP spellcasters.

Would be nice if an AP item was added that contained a QSS cleanse active

The equivalent is called Zhonya's

Marksmen do their damage from auto attacks, so as long as they are free to move around, they do damage. Hence their rescue me item is one that lets them get unstuck and keep moving and kitting.

Mages function off of cooldowns, so their save me item is one that makes them invulnerable while they wait for their CC/burst/escape to come off cooldown so they can escape/kill the danger

zhonya's is a self-root and allows your opponents to reposition. Same thing with GA, often the active just prolongs your death by 2.5 seconds rather than being an actual save me item.

the two are not equal. I'd be fine with an AD zhonya's, if we also got an AP QSS

Then you are using it at the wrong time, or your positioning is poor in the first place. When used correctly, Zhonya's is probably the strongest active in the game

An ad hominem is when the argument detracts from the point. When it actually serves a purpose, then it stands. You can't make an argument that the game needs a certain item when you yourself have a problem using its intended counterpart. I hate playing against Heimer. I could make a post saying that there should be an item with an active that I can insta-destroy his turrets; but that doesn't mean in the slightest that such an item should exist.

ad hominem is when you attack the person making an argument rather than addressing the argument itself. You ignored my points and said , "welp you must just be bad". end of "discussion"

my point was that its (QSS's) intended counterpart is not created equal. While at times, yes, it can be much stronger than a simple clease, it also has drawbacks that i mentioned. A cleanse that allows you to break CC instantly and keep moving could be useful for mages in particular situations. Zhonya's does not fulfill that role.

additionally, zhonya's is 3500g. QSS is 1300g. Tell me more about how they are equal?

QSS itself is completely able to be bought by any class. Bringing up that as a point is arguing semantics -- we both knew that the item in question was Mercurial Scimitar.

And you can't say "this item has drawbacks, so I want another item that doesn't have those". I adressed the differences between the two items in my original post, and nothing you brought up in your first reply had anything detracting from that. Instead, it was stating how using it at the wrong time can get you killed (that's a surprise). Those problems are nothing inherent to the item, those are problems with each individual user. I've used Zhonya's wrong dozens of times. But recently I've been using it in much better situations, and as such, I've come out ahead in whatever what happening.
