The Malphite Principle

The Malphite Principle (in Bronze and Silver) goes as follows:

"If you know how to play Malphite (moderately well, you can even lose lane a bit) and by the time you get your Ult your team is within FIVE POINTS of the other team's kills... more than half of the time you will win regardless (just a matter of how long it will take)."

Malphite makes many many other dysfunctional teamfight comp look good. Seriously, in Bronze/Silver they can't deal with your instant AOE 1 button initiation, pick potential, counter engage or tactical zoning with it. A 3 item Malph (even if its Gauntlet, Ionian Boots, and Sunfire) is a Godsend. Any more items then that and he's basically a low elo god.

I wouldnt ever play malphite because he depends on his team

This is true; I mean if your backline just absolutely can't deal any damage effectively then your Ult might not be enough. Also, Malphite doesn't (usually) win lane, in fact he tends to barely manage to force an even one.

But still, I find that in almost all games I've played if it gets to mid/late game and we're just within 5 kills, even if it looks like no one on our team has the kills to carry... a Malphite with an Ult is usually the turning point.

Malph is one of those champions who snowballs his lane pretty hard - durability, the ability to engage with Q, and 'sustain' in the form of regenerating shields makes it very easy for him to get out of hand.

seeing as how kills mean very little in league, I see why you're still in bronze.

silver is shiny bronze. yes you are.

Actually no, Silver is an element on the periodic table, Bronze is made from other elements; Silver is not "shiny bronze," they are completely different.

Well, reliable AoE hard CC usually is helpful to a team's comp.
