Who's your favorite non meta/strong champ and how would you get them to "meta" status?

Kled does it for me. his ramblings crack me up and his kit is fun to use both on and off skarl, but if skarl goes you might as well give it up kled lacks anything to get the job done and you have to farm several waves of minions perfectly to get him back or wail on a champ for a few solid seconds. I would do one of two things to bring him to "meta" status, either make all basic attacks give courage(less for minions of course) or give his E something to do while unmounted. make the break between skarl and no skarl shorter and feel more like a window of opportunity for the savvy player.

that's just my 2 cents though lets hear yours [slayer-pantheon-popcorn]

I don't want my champions to become meta.

That just gets them nerfed.

I don't want my champions to become meta.

Then other people will pick or ban them and I won't be able to play them.

Galio has got to be my favorite midlaner.

But as fun as he is, there's just a few things in his kit that are close to useless (similar to pre-rework Poppy). His passive is nice for his midlane playstyle, his W is a great ability whether you place it on yourself or an ally, and his Ultimate is just awesome.

But his Q, while being his primary source of damage, just feels lame and is very mana-hungry. His E is a joke, it's pretty much only useful to return to lane faster or finish those caster minions with 10 up left from striking them with your Q.

as a galio main.......

his passive is near useless. its not a "counter" to ap mid laners because it doesn't solve the issue of you getting caught out or suddenly now that you build mr items you can compete with the damage of pen/raw ap where otherwise you couldn't, he just doesn't work that way.

if you understand your mechanics and just position correctly so you dont take free damage you come out so far ahead of your enemy laner.

the secret... melee last hit, and Q every time they go to auto for an absurd amount of poke they have to take on their end. you can always safely farm with your Q + E instead of taking any damage at all.

your Q base damage is significantly higher than whatever ability they use. also your base health + regen + potential masteries far outweighs their auto attacks. you will be on the better end of trading if you land the Q

your W is so absurdly good to the point where it even stops yasuo, zed, talon in their tracks when they engage, i cant stress enough how important positioning is on galio, if you have it these guys are even a non factor. i always break even or come out ahead on galio. hes so great even that he has no bad matchups... its sad really it feels disgusting where i style on rivens and yasuos who literally cant do anything against me.

if you farm well galio is a great pick up, most people feed, find themselves levels behind, and items behind and then galio just doesn't do enough. people struggle to last hit and it really hurts them in the long run, especially on a champion they dont understand.

back at op, galio could be made meta if he simply got a ranged auto or reduced casting animations, people struggle the most with him in lane and managing his mana pool (which goes away after roa)

Okay, so his passive isn't all that great, I'll admit. But the issue of melee auto-attacking minions rather than using spells to farm is a tad obnoxious because the ranged enemy laner can easily hit you from there. That's what I don't like about his kit.

Sure, I could just Q+E my way through lanes, but that's going to burn through mana really fast and force me to buy more mana regen than just a Lost Chapter. Those are the only things I don't like about him, having to choose between harass or no mana and his E being near worthless

But the rest of him's cool.

Teemo Removing a small bit of his power..

for 50 Range.

550 Range could make him an excellent bot laner.

his range is a tad low. he just barely stays on the safe fringe of poke top and is too low for bot. agreed.

as for the Galio bits his passive works for what it was made for but I agree with his skills being super great or completely meh, and nowhere in between.

Nocturne he is still strong but from what i hear not so much in high elo (bush OP) I would reduce his burst but low CD on passive. Half tether duration and give him some sort of tankiness via his W (maybe +5 10 15 20 25 resists after blocking a spell) The trick to making the changes balanced would be making him have to build enough damage to kill squshies but no longer able to one shot them the places i would remove burst from would be his ult and initial Q damage and probally take some % bonus damage off his passive

Meta is anything you make work well. Most effective tactical strategy

People who do think: Answer champions they hate.

Me: I want Rift Herald to become meta. :)

Athenes Lulu1 votes

Easy. Just revert Lulu's Q damage nerfs and watch as she goes back into pick/ban in competitive all the damn time.

Though a lot of people probably don't want to see it happen, whether if they main support and/or melee solo laners.
