Cassiopeia Evaluation

Hi All, It's been a while since the MYMU rework. Having mained her last season and played all of her iterations, I have to say that I liked her old mechanics the best. However, I have gotten used to her newer playstyle, although I don't find her as fun/satisfying as before.

I was wondering if there has been any consideration of evaluating the changes on Cassiopeia, especially on her 'new and improved' Miasma (W). I find it useful, sometimes, but I had much more uses with the mechanics of the old W. It definitely had much more utility and application. I think the 'grounded' mechanic could work in the old Miasma- if Riot could look into it and adjust ap ratios/etc. For example, maybe the 'grounded' debuff could only apply if they stayed in the Miasma cloud too long (ie >3 seconds), but not immediately. Of course a lot of things could be looked at. At the very least, the Miasma should grant vision in bushes/fog of war, as it used to.

Just wondering what everyone else thinks.

New Miasma is so much more fun than the old one. Because the old one was pretty much instant cast and had no minimum range you could very rarely actually use it as a zoning tool in a fight because it was more valuable as a backup way to apply poison when you miss a Q on something that jumped on top of you (also because its piddly slow and base damage gave the enemy almost no incentive to avoid it.

New Miasma is more effective in team fights, but old one has more utility/uses:

  • farming (lower cd, persistent poison synergy with E)
  • ability to cast on oneself for kiting away from melee/dash champs
  • throw in a bush to reveal enemy team and chip away at their health
  • throw in a bush that you anticipate an enemy would venture into

Grounding is def OP, but it's also hard to be effective as it is easy for the enemy champs to walk out of if they're not focused by your team. It's harder to pull off/use effectively in lane.

This is the 3rd Cassio I've seen in 2 minutes, did the gameplay boards have meeting or something?
