first thing i learned playing against yasuo. first off. its completely fine to let yasuo out cs you. because its very easy to last hit with him. also don't get near minions in the early levels. because he will dash in auto you a cpl times. dash out. now. you can't really punish him for that unless he plays it badly because any short trade is absorbed by his shield. this is why i hate yasuo. and probably most people do too. his shield passive. not the double crit. not the resourclessness. but his shield. is so underrated. its ridiculous. yasuo is notorious for bullying just about every champion early levels even ranged ones if they are in the range of his r or q.
point is. sit back and farm under turret. poke his shield from range before you all in him unless you can outtrade him like for example jax and darius in top lane. in mid you farm until you can burst him. or hes just bad then you can just go for a kill if he gets too careless and poke his shield every time you can. anyone with some sort of a ranged ability. that doesn't have to do a lot of damage just needs to get his shield off. is not a bad pick into yasuo. either aoe or point and click skilshots are hard to land against him.
poke his shield off and burst him. hes an annoying champion because of his lane bully lane phase. you can't really outtrade him with most mid laners early game. if not all. hell when i play zed against yasuo. i farm like a bitch under turret. get to level 6. poke his shield with a q or w and E and then all in him.
i find that kennen in mid lane destroys yasuo. i never have to get close and if he gets in melee range i punish him with my ult or q and w after his shield goes away. its a win guarnteed matchup. i think chogath beats him hard too
swain should win against him.
i also believe viktor counters him because his E goes through the windwall. though some peoople said viktor E doesn't i think it does.
fizz beats him because fizz
see a lot of champs that counter him. have some sort of a ranged non projectile aoe spell. like kennen ult or chogath q or brand w.
cass and swain are decent against yasuo. especially cass because of miasama.
i wouldn't play liss into yasuo because she doesn't have much damage to kill yasuo. and shes a burst mage. she can't poke him with her low range spells.
