Yasuo's kit and why it's unfun to play against.

Why is Yasuo unfun to play against? He's unfun for the same reasons old Ryze was. Yasuo's kit is always on. Level 1, Yasuo with E can dash six times in ten seconds. He gets a 100 damage shield for any ability his opponent has at level 1 to trade against him. Yasuo wins the trade, almost always, against a mage.

Level 2. Yasuo gets his Q. Now he has a kit that's always ready to dash six times, shield himself automatically, and aoe waveclear while doing so. This applies tremendous pressure on his opponent if Yasuo chooses to do so. His opponent's answer? If his opponent is a squishy low mobility caster, nothing. There's almost nothing his opponent can do to answer without losing the trade.

Level 3. Yasuo can outright block all his opponent's ranged attacks and abilities.

Levels 4-5. Yasuo doesn't get any weaker, you know.

Level 6. Now, if you get hit by his tornado, it's almost guaranteed death.

Levels 7+ Yasuo item 3087 Tons of burst dps knockupability with little to no counterplay.

Yasuo has no mana. Instead of having mana, he gets a free shield if he charges up his resource. He also only has double critical strike chance, nothing huge.

But really, you get the point. His kit is always on. It's always damaging. It scales harder than any other champion's kit with just a single item. He has all the cc, damage, mobility, assassination potential, dueling potential, and teamfight potential you could possibly want on a single champion.

He's super unfun to play against, and quite frankly, imbalanced.

It's because riot's allowing an assassin who builds full dmg with fucking double crit chance,2 defensive abilities such as blocking most game projectiles and free shield while having no mana costs

Yasuo has all defenses up? Better unleash my whole combo on him while also putting me in an unfavorable position and allow him to attack me freely, this should totally work.

Wile E Coyote had better plans than 90% of this game community.

I know right, they are only complaining about Yasuo, they don't know how to play him, they just know they don't like people who spent the time to master and learn a champion that actually can make use of skill.

The issue is that as a resource less champion with high wave clear, its actually quite difficult to both keep him from shredding you and keep him from shredding your turret while not using all of your mana and just generally getting rekt.

Then you are obviously going about it the wrong way. If you want to know how to beat a yasuo, play yasuo.

His passive is easy to deal with, if you are ranged just use an Auto attack to trigger it, then use spells when it expires. And if you're not ranged? then you got counterpicked.

Meh, most of melees have higher base stats than Yasuo, Unless they screw trades up it's not that hard to deal with him too.

If you auto him to remove the shield, he will know you're gonna attack him, and will be ready to:

  1. Dodge with his 0 cooldown, 0 cost dash
  2. Block it with his windwall, again for no cost

Meanwhile you just wasted lots of mana while also tanking a few caster minions since you did an auto on him. What did yasuo use up to win that trade? Nothing.

The trick is, to just pop his passive every single time it gets charged, if you can make him use his windwall, that's a win for you cause Yasuo's windwall has a 25 second cooldown. So that's 25 seconds where you could make a potential play if he makes a mistake.

0.5 seconds actually. That may not seem big but it means it takes around 2 seconds for him to dash towards you (he will need around 4 minions i'm assuming)

So as soon as you see him starting to dash, just reposition

The reason why I picked up Kennen and you should too.

"But his Q is blocked by windwall, he is useless"

Prepare for BS like this.

I hope the community isn't that bronze...

SymbolicFear1 votes

85% of the community is bronze or unranked... soooo yeahhhhh..... But rank doesn't really mean anything, its all about experience with the game. I judge people based on their wins overall as I know someone with 2k wins who plays at Diamond level or higher but doesn't enjoy ranked.

Just fix wind wall so it doesn't stop projectiles behind him or projectiles literally on top of him.

ShatoSummoner1 votes

THIS holy crap THIS. Its one thing for him to have wind wall, the issue is that its just so fucking buggy it isn't even funny! The ability is already connected with yasuo's face and his wind wall just wipes it from existence. Super irritating.

A champion that relies on a shield in order to trade without getting rekt, needs to charge up his only CC, needs a line of minions to dash through to even reach you, and literally cannot use his ult unless he knocks you up is always on? It almost sounds like you have no idea what you're talking about. You've never played Yasuo once in your entire life. How about you try that, and them come back.

At level 1, Yasuo's E is on about a 2 second cooldown. Stop making things up. He also gets absolute crushed by any hard CC. His Windwall stops nothing that is not a projectile. Use AoE stuff.

But most importantly, don't feed Yasuo. Don't feed anyone.

Its 0.5. Stop making things up.

Well, 80% of hard CC is a skillshot, so good luck trying to hit him while hes dashing around like a hyperactive caffeinated monkey.

because aoe abilities surely can't be coded as projectiles.

Also, every single champion a side for those who can be immune to all or certain types are destroyed by CC.

I hate people who complain about Yasuo's Passive and W.

"It blocks all of my spells, I cant touch him. He destroyed my Syndra ultimate."

Yeah, ok, I forgot his wall is up 100% of the time and follows him around like Pix does with Lulu. Wind Wall is new Yasuo pet.

xTheCaptainx1 votes

I said it once and ill say it again. Just play Malzahar. This is literally a free win... Windwall does nothing against him. auto and apply visions. walk away. trade won. rinse repeat and win lane since yas cant wave clear while visions tick on his minions.
