They said that the league itself want canon, but the summoners themselves stll are, i saw it a whle ago on a post about sona mentioning summoners

The game and the lore are entirely seperate in that sense. By that logic, in-game, Malphite should be larger than the map and Aurelion Sol could pick the map out of his teeth.

They split Gameplay from Lore.

You, 3SheetsToTheWind, are still a "Summoner", and you still use "Summoner Spells", and if you go pro you'll fight for the "Summoner's Cup".

However, none of that exists in the Lore of League of Legends anymore. Done away are the omnipotent sorcerers that played the puppet master for all of the champions we see.
