Discussing pro's advice to carrying in lower Elos. Agreements/disagreements.

Now understand first off, this is a 100% legit question i'm asking. Any trolls or salty responses which are not relevant I will not even acknowledge. You have been warned. I clearly want to grasp everyone's opinions on this.

Now, I play League with a group that seem to hold the pro's advice to what carrying is and that is to never let your team determine a game. I agree and disagree with many aspects of this, My disagreement is that a team that goes 0/8 - 0/3 -2/6 -3/11 and you as the support are 2/4/5 and even as an AP carry that might be 8/2/5 you cannot carry even if you're doing well, especially if you have shit teammates.

Now I agree with carrying because I know it matters how often players leech kills off you and in turn if they do it enough and get fed by you then you're "carrying" However this is rarely the case. I'm Gold 5 and have been Gold 5 up to 90LP multiple times back down to 0. My KDAS are not always "Carry" status but when Im ap mid or adc at 8/2 or 11/4 and the rest of my team is getting shit stomped, I don't think it's fair to say that I failed to carry myself to victory because at that point it becomes a 5v1 game. You cannot focus objectives/split push/ and control 5 lanes at once, no one can. The biggest factor is communication

Example of a actual game, I still can say if skarner went 6/6/5 and yasuo went 12/9/3 and you went 7/3/2 and you got a Victory, now if Skarner went 6/6/5 and Yasuo went 0/12/3 and someone went 3/7/2, would you say that its skarners fault for not carrying his team when his team clearly did not participate?

Thoughts on this, because I'm very open ended on it. I agree with it in a lot of ways, but I disagree in a lot of ways. This is a 5v5 game and once you get to Gold/plat indiviual participation becomes 1/5th of what is needed to win a game, not the sole factor.
