Most Toxic Tier?

I'm currently in S5 hell right now, and in the past have been a mid-silver player (can't pretend I'm better than that now), but my wins/losses recently haven't been nearly as balanced.

I know people who say Bronze 5 is bad, but I've never seen as much toxicity in league as I have this season in S5. It seems like every game is decided by one player's attitude. Don't get me wrong, I'm on the winning end of this almost as often as I'm on the losing end, but it's just a lot less fun than the ranked games I'm used to. I'm usually a solid jungler and a capable top laner (at best), but most games seem to end with one team or another getting completely steamrolled due to player's toxic nonsense, or at best, indifference.

Is this a S5 thing, a current meta thing, or what? I'm not a high tier summoner by any means, but still love playing League due in part to how easily a game can flip with a little teamwork. That seems nearly impossible this season.

I think that D5 is the worst elo I've ever been into. And I've experienced every tier from Bronze 3 to Diamond 4. The amount of trolls, afk people, and people who just trollpick and int because they lost their last game is insane.

So maybe it's just all the 5s? I've had much better results in duoqueues lately seemingly because it makes me 25% less likely to land that one grenade on my team. I really wish there was a way around this, especially in ranked. Stricter punishments, more honor-based incentives, etc...

Plat/Low Diamond is Very Toxic.

i have accounts in Bronze/Silver/Gold They all don't seam nearly as bad as my main.

I've been in games with players from low bronze to low diamond (though mostly mid silver to low plat), and from experience I'd say the farther from gold you get above or below the more toxicity you encounter (of course that's only with my limited experience).

Plat 5 to diamond 5, including the 5's, is the most toxic interval.

The 5's are usually considerably worse than the rest of the tier, except maybe bronze 5.

Games are indeed more binary than normal, and flame certainly doesn't help.

As far as I know, silver has a lot of frustrated players, and they're just sick of it. When they see someone mess up, they already see the defeat in their minds and so start bashing away at other players in frustration.

Either get good and climb out of it (gold is more chill) or learn how to defuse those kinds of situations and give them hope and an incentive for teamwork.

Yea Gold Players are pretty humble compared to the other tiers.
