Why the rengar rework failed

So the video touches on literally almost all frustrations of I think almost all rengar players have. The video has timestamps for those who dont want to watch it all. First of let me say that the old rengar was toxic, its true he could burst ppl in near nano seconds. But from a personal stand point I truly believe pre-reworked rengar could be balanced. A few things that would help, instead of making his q do instant burst make it be a bleed, when he gains full ferocity he bleeds a target for this X amount of dmg, similar to that of talon. Or even better shift the power from is q to the rest of his kit. I think what makes and made rengar so frustrating was his q had such a short cd and was all of his burst. If you look at talon or zed for example they need all their skills to properly execute a target, both of zeds q's(shadow and normal q) and talons q and release and return of talons w. This would make rengar more rewarding while giving other the ability to counter him. This new rengar is clunky and like the video seems rushed. One other point I would like to state is the cause of him being a fighter/assassin hybrid. rengar has always been borderline between the two, and its safe to say that this is because of his battle roar, both pre/reworked w's have pretty much placed him in the hybrid role, and we saw riots attempt to make him into more of an assassin with the immunity but failed because of all the other things they added. So plz Rengar mains, voice your dislikes but also give suggestions on how we can make him balanced, because we know exactly what makes him op. I really don't want rengar to die.

But a question, do you think Diana is an assassin?

Because she has existed under the divers/fighter tab since ages ago.

Since no one complained about that isn't it fine for Rengar to be there too?

And while i agree on many of the issue´s on his normal kit.

I can't say i know about his ultimate, because it was super frustrating to play against, and despite the indicator a lot of people still succeeded even after his rework with making and slow target miserable.

It took a ton of nerfs to get him down, because he really was super strong.

However i can understand you complains on him being clunky now, his Q is definitely....not smooth or fluid to use at all.

However i dont see any easy solution either, because his old Q was too good, built in double auto attack reset on a champ like rengar was simply too much, there was nothing one could do once he ulted and got near you.

Only thing i can think of is making his ulti faster or somehow have less of a indication later on into the game as a means to punish bad position and still not abuse the slow and utterly defenseless carries by just ulting and then jumping ontop of them 1,5 seconds later.

Interesting...His new passive is so lame comparing to previous... Im not a rengar main, i play him since few.

To me his R and his bush jump is his identity. Q is fun... at first and to clean... but idk how to explain but its clunky. Old W was better... but both feel weird to me. Riot should just keep his R, his bush jump & bola, and rework what's left like they did with shyvana or reksai, don't know how. Could bring his old tooth thing

there one point where i desagree :

  • old W wasn't an assassin tool to begin IMO : a defense steroid would be more for juggernauts or mighty divers.

For finish idc if Rengar is listed in divers or assassin. To begin the old one would be listed in divers class.

While I probably will not agree with you on how Rengar should be fixed, I do agree with you that the points you are raising are all valid and merit some work from riot.
