This guy really should be a juggernaut. I posted some ideas in another thread about how to make him unique.

Right now he plays sort of like a melee adc because hes so weak and squishy you absolutely must hurry to get both lifesteal and tank items on him, and even then he just gets mowed down unless there's a solid threat on your team.

Some places I would remove some power:

Passive: I would just remove the self resurrect because outside of early turret dives its junk. I don't care that it's up more often. This just equates to the enemy team circle jerking around your body to finish killing you. This should really be reworked into another passive that benefits his other abilities when his bloodwell is filled and gives him some stats. Give him more means to also then fill the bloodwell and spend it.

Q: This is some hidden BS potential power. They say it's like a mini malphite ult, except it has an ENORMOUS delay, terrible range, and you essentially CC yourself in place to eat a boatload of damage and CC. Aside from all that, it is absurdly easy to dodge. Get rid of this crummy knockup and give him some real mobility in place of it, or something else entirely.

W: You can go ahead and remove the toggle from this and just make the lifesteal passive, because right now he can hardly afford to use the damage component. This should really have some sort of active defensive ability tied to it with just passive heal every third hit.

E: This is actually a solid ability and fun to use, but its pretty darn generic.

R: A stat stick ultimate with zero real interaction. Remove the damage, give it a team attack speed buff for duration and a very brief AE fear.

I posted another thread on how to spice aatrox up. He really should be a juggernaut. If you have to get rid of Q, then do it. We all hate that ability.

This is your drain tank fantasy right here. And the way you need to play it out is with his blood well passive as a resource that you generate and spend. Most of his abilities should probably come at a cost of life, maybe heftier, but then he needs to have better base stats. This guy should really be spending and generating life as a resource that ties into his bloodwell passive. As such, he should have more ways to heal. You could easily remove some of his damage.

Also the knockup is silly, the guy thematically should have a fear tied to his ultimate.

One of the things that we have generally thought is important for juggernauts is that their mobility profile is such that they don't really have abilities that grant them instant access to where they want to be, and Aatrox's Q is in pretty direct conflict with that. That's not to say it's entirely out of the question. There are thematic elements of him and sustained damage patterns on him that really do actually fit in pretty well.

If you have to get rid of Q, then do it. We all hate that ability.

I'm curious as to whether the above statement is true of most Aatrox players, or if you were generalizing here. If any other Aatrox players could chime in with their opinions, I'd certainly be interested in hearing them.

Please don't change Aatrox. I personally love everything about his kit. The only real complaint is how easy it for your opponent to cancel your q, but that is what makes Aatrox balanced IMO.

Aatrox is a diver, not a juggernaut, everything about him says nimble fighter (It's even part of his lore that he is graceful and deadly, not some big juggernaut)

We don't "all hate that ability" (in regards to Q) It needs work and is far from perfect, but it isn't horrible.

The thing I dislike the most about playing aatrox is the same thing I hate most about spellvamp. It's built to sustain you, but it doesn't quite get the job done in 90% of all interactions.

Aatrox's entire kit spends his health to do his abilities, and even his W spends health every 3 hits. Other champions can do what he does a lot better, without the cost of health at all. (jax is a very good example of this)

Jax can leap to his opponent, do tons of damage, and has a lot of beefiness from his abilities to keep him alive in the thick of the battle.

Aatrox simply does not have this. His ult is generic damage. the range increase is nice, the attack speed is nice, but what's the point if you just got melted? He should be nigh on unstoppable in his ult. He deserves it.\

He also gets screwed over by CC quite well. one stun, and he's dead. You can't sustain if you can't dish out damage

Aatrox main here why not give him bonus life something like yasuos passive his E also moves way to his slow his swords drinks blood so giving E stat stealing abilities would be cool

If the other team doesn't have a lot of hard cc they will never be able to kill you, so long as you have something in range to attack you will out sustain any damage they throw at you.

Right now he's actually in a good spot, sated makes him have a ridiculous power spike that just leads to him snowballing harder and harder. It doesn't even matter if you feed tell you get the bork and spirit visage, as soon as you're sated you become a monster.

I think Aatrox's Q would be okay if it had a shorter delay. Really frustrating how long it takes.

@RiotRepertoir: Any chance of adding a fear effect to Aatrox's passive similar to what was done on Darius's ultimate (still on PBE)? What I mean is, when Aatrox revives give a small AoE fear to champs and minions. It could be very short in duration, but it'd give a small window to survive or escape if you're getting annihilated (probably so since you're dead), it'd fit thematically, it'd be fun, and there's counter play (back out of the small fear AoE radius and close back in after he's resurrected).

I think it'd be fun, not a huge power spike, give a little flavor to this supposed "avatar of war" or whatever he's supposed to be, and would be satisfying for his playerbase.

Aatrox q for me feels rly weird because it is so weak for multiple reasons Long delay interrupted by everything etc. etc. yet it costs 10% of your hp. The rest of the kit is actually ok for me and my brother(who mains aatrox top) only the ulti could use some sort of buff aswell but e and w work fine Imo. Aatrox for me feels in a really weird spot atm because he almost has 0 good lane matchups but can win alot of them (sounds weird but it is really like that )
