They are always problematic items.
Each one just gives so much for it's item and the only one that is fine is Lich Bane, but I think the game would be better off without these items.
Removing them will open up opportunities to buff certain champions that found them essential, or allows the opening for new unique items.

But anyway, I doubt riot will remove something so ingraned into the game, unless it's so terribly broken that it wins every game, or people build it on everyone. For instance, enervating locket, deathfire grasp being a must-buy on most mages because of the serious burst it gave, feral flare because of the sickening level of scaling you would get for pretty much nothing... sterak's better watch it; better hope it gets hit with the nerf hammer and not removed, because everyone and their dog is buying this shit and it's the most annoying shit I've ever seen. In fact, I'd rather see sterak's and feral flare sated devourer removed from the game before sheen items.

doesn't? The damage scales with your base attack damage. So if you want it to hurt more, you build more damage. But since you normally want to increase the slow area, you build more armor to do that.
