The state of the ? -ping
We've all been there, something goes wrong and all of the sudden you get these ?-pings all over your champion. You try to ignore it, but the pings just keep on being spammed all over the place...
What used to be a great tool for calling ss is now abused for harassment, and with not much punishment against this it causes tilt and encourages harassing behavior. This has to be stopped, right now.
We are in the most competitive state of League of Legends yet, and with everyone wanting to do their best the stress builds up. Some choose to vent in the chat, some keep it to their selves, and some choose other ways. But the pings are the most consistent toxic tool of them all, because it's used so frequently. Mainly because it's fast and easy to use, and you always get away with it. One small ?-ping or a bunch of them, Riot can't track you down that easily. And who would report for using some pings from time to time? Most just forget about it when the game is done and move on.
I want LoL to be as much of a friendly and encouraging enviroment as possible, and I think we can make that happen if we change the ?- ping to something else, appearance-wise only. Because never did I feel harassed when someone spammed another ping other than the ?-ping in my face. I think this can work.
The reason why I think changing the appearance of the ping rather than making spam-using it a punishable offense is because: It would be hard to track who's using it aggressively and who's just signaling that enemies are missing, and also, why punish something when it can just be removed? (By changing the appearance, the harassing stops). Of course this could lead to wasted resources if they would change it and the harassing would still continue, still I hope it'll be worth a try.
What do you guys think, and what could the ping look like if they changed it?
