@Riot, what is ranked supposed to show/mean?

I mostly ignored all the soloQ whining threads because they all said the same thing (fuk you riot you took our SoloQ now we leave) but one caught my eye. It was the one titled: "We agree dynamic queue standings don't reflect pure individual skill as well as a solo ladder" and continued to say then why the hell is it called ranked.

I actually am curious as to what the hell rank is for then if it doesn't represent your skill. Rank in ANY MOBA is supposed to show how good you are based on what division you are. For example, a gold 3 would definitely be better (or SHOULD be better) than a bronze 3. A plat would be better than both of them combined.

However, this is not present in this game. A gold 3 is not inherently better than a bronze 3. In fact he's probably boosted. And you riot yourself have now said it-Rank isn't a representation of skill according to you it should be but it isn't. And my question:

WHY DOESN'T IT?

Thats what Rank is. It's not that hard a concept. How and why did you stray from the path that so many other MOBA's have followed cause common sense? Why does rank no longer represent rank? Why are all high elo's now probably boosted except a few? What the hell?

Sincerely,

A confused and curious league of legends player.

Solo queue represents one set of skills. Dynamic queue represents another. I don't work for riot, but it seems the skills necessary to climb a solo ladder are not the ones they want to encourage. Communication, coordination and teamplay are more emphasized in the dq environment. KDA, cs@10, damage per minute are more emphasized in sq. Dq rank means good at different things than sq rank.
