Stop saying that these champions are unoriginal and plain copies of other champs.

Seriously, it is extremely difficult to make original concepts without copying from the champions numbering over 100. Can you haters do better?

Yuumi isn’t a Sona clone purely cuz of her ultimate. The cat has numerous qualities that make her her own champion.

She has a guided missile that is controlled by the mouse? HURRRRR THATS THE SION ULTI AND NUNU SNOWBALLZ EVER. UNORIGINAL AND OP BLAME CERTAINLYT !!!!1

She can attach to other champs? DAHHH SHE IS RAKAN RITO STAHP NEING UNORIGINAL AND BLAME CERTAINLYT!!1!!

I'll never understand people who cry about champions being copies of each other They do realize that almost all champions copy each other's auto attacks, right?

Póppy Chulo8 votes

No because Jinx uses a gun and Draven uses a sword and Lucian uses a g- oh

Freed By Frailty18 votes

I think you're missing the point. What I've seen most people complain about isn't her gameplay, but her overall design and thematic.

She uses the same design the rest of the Enchanters use, flowy, light, pastels, feminine. The only thing that makes her stand out from a thematic point of view is that she's a cat.

kile1479 votes

That's fair I guess. I've heard talk of a "Drill Sergent" support for awhile, and that would be a much bigger thematic break from what they have done in the past.

Kioshek1 votes

Tbh they tried bringing something new to supports with Pyke and almost everybody hates him. (I mean playing against and sometimes even with him. Not that people hate to play him.)

Arakadia2 votes

They hate him because he has way more potential to kill you then normal supports. Not because he's a deviation from normal support thematic design.

Abibyama II12 votes

But when Riot does create an original champion that is not a copy paste champion, everyone loses their mind saying shit like "breaking the absolute rules of the game".

Josh Sand2 votes

Yea the problem is that Riot only does that with Assassin and Fighters and Bruisers. You will never see a support impact the game in the same way that a Yasuo or Akali does.

Isnt overloaded? That is yet to be seen. All we know is her abilities and we have a trailer. From trailers you can't assume anything. For example, Did we know that zoe would have been a 1 shooting piece of shit from the trailer? No, so, we don't know

Yes, I can do better

The general theme of your "better" ideas:

Champion: Lugg the Jugg manaless

Passive: instantly heals 100% while not in combat, or on unit kill Q: cleaves enemies in a 9,800 radius circle, dealing 400% total AD on the blade but only 200% total AD at the handle (inner radius of 250) W: passively grants 99% tenacity, active becomes invulnerable for 0.25s, takes 90% reduced damage for the next 3s. (as a show of skill) E: pulls all enemies within 9,700 units towards Lugg, slowing them by 60% and reducing their armor by 300. (fair because he'll have to move closer than his Q range to do it, and he has relatively low movespeed) R: Attempts to execute target enemy recently hit by Lugg's Q, deals 9999 Pure damage if the target is below 50% health. Successful executions refresh the cooldown.

You're right, Yuumi isn't a Sona clone. She's an upgrade lulu that's stuck at bot lane forever.

iiGazeii7 votes

And I don't really see why people are saying that these abilities are so so similar.

Yuumi's ult is nothing like Sona's ult. Sona's is an AoE stun. One shot. Yuumi's ult is wider, and continues to pulse in the direction she cast it in. It's a root, not a stun.

Rakan's E shields his teammate each time he casts it, and he has other positioning-based abilities that allow him to be crazy mobile with it. Yuumi doesn't shield her ally with her W, and she just kind of glues herself to them. This is one of the most unique parts of her kit.

Her Q being able to be guided by your mouse is a completely new mechanic to League that only works because she doesn't need to use her mouse to move.

Her heal is just Kayle's heal, I can't really defend this one. It might be a burst of decaying movespeed and the numbers might be different, but it's a heal+speed boost for her or a teammate. Not much else to say.

Yuumi has one of the most mechanically unique kits in the game. Functionally, she's similar to many other enchanters, but she does it like no other champion.

Its what Neeko's ult is to Nunu's. Yuumi's ult is the delayed mobile form of Sona's ult

Yuumi doesn't shield her ally with her W, and she just kind of glues herself to them. This is one of the most unique parts of her kit.

Her passive provides the shield when attached. In fact she provides bonus AD, movement speed, healing, and shields while attached (Depending on whether the wording "until it breaks" is literal or not).

Not to mention her Zoe-like Q (Except controllable with mouse) can also be launched while attached.

Her Q being able to be guided by your mouse is a completely new mechanic to League that only works because she doesn't need to use her mouse to move.

Depending on the range (Which can be assumed to be decent to long as damage increases with distance) this will be problematic because a mouse can move more easily than a dodging champion in terms of readjusting flight paths.

Don't get me wrong, I am excited to see a Jhin + Full AP Yuumi bot lane.

Like, Imagine Nasus with an undying support being with him

Hell, someone out there may even make duo jungle viable with laners strong at 1v2 to cover for bot lane

The Ecdysiast6 votes

Yeah, lotta people who don't understand that the designs have to abide by certain mechanics complaining that she's not original.

If originality were an issue, then there would only be 1 champion for each class.

Remember Aatrox is literally Riven

Sir Saltarin8 votes

Remember that he isn't

Kazekiba4 votes

How? 3 AOE slashes, last being a slam with knockup CC A small forward dash with durability on cast Transformation jutsu Ult. The only difference is the passive, though both empower autos after hitting Q, Aatrox has a long CD. He has a LOT more common with Riven than ... himself.

Wimbledofy3 votes

1 aoe line slash that knocks up, 1 aoe sion Q looking thing, and then 1 aoe slash that is similar to riven's final Q. None of Aatrox's Q's move him. Many champs have CC so that means nothing. He gets no durability on casting E so that's blatantly false. Ult way more similar to Allistar's and Zileans than Riven's Aatrox passive isn't activated after hitting Q, the cooldown on it is reduced after using any ability. You really used some crazy mental gymnastics to even try to compare it the way you did.

Uhhhhh, other way around Thresh is a way easier, more forgiving version of Blitzcrank. Look at pick rates it's obvious because one of them isn't useless for 10 seconds after they both miss hook Started the game maining both champs. Mechanically... maybe you are right, but thresh takes coin now anyway so most of his skill expression is down the toilet. Usefulness-wise, not a chance

I totally agree with you, as a Blitz main. I love Thresh because even if he misses his hook, he still has his W and E to help his allies or push the enemies away. And his R is great both for engaging and saving your buddies (especially combined with Zeke). Blitz, on the other hand, is way more aggressive: you cannot fail your hook, otherwise you can just try and escape or hope that muting your opponents with your R will be enough. Actually, his whole kit is centered around his Q: W to run towards them, E to stun them after landing your hook, R to finish them off if need arises. I prefer Blitz and I actually believe they're quite different champions, but if I had to say who's harder to master, then it's definitely Blitzcrank.

I think this is a bit a discussion of semantics (as in what easy means).

Blitz is definitely and without a doubt easier to play than Thresh. Simply because his options a way more limited and straight forward. On the other hand it is as you say that it is not as easy to do well with Blitz as it is with Thresh because Blitz is almost entirely depending on a predictable skill shot whereas Thresh has options.

Absolutely right, you couldn't have said it better: Blitz has an easier but more punitive skillset, while Thresh's kit is more difficult but leaves you multiple paths open. I, for one, have a harder time with Thresh because I'm accustomed to a faster grab (not only Blitz, ma Nautilus' pseudo-hook is definitely faster too) and often fail to calculate or predict my opponents' movements!

NaughtyWord4 votes

I think Morgana and Lux are very similar in terms of play (midlane). Morg's got better wave clear and shield, but lux gets the better ult. However their play style is very very similar.

Part of the reason I play a sitting duck like Ashe is I find her to have a unique feel, at least among ADCs. Crit is nice, but not must have, so it allows you more freedom in itemization. CC is just build into her auto's and the all-map ult allows you to look really cool from time to time when you snipe someone from across the map.

Unpopular opinion:

Varus and KogMaw feel very similar to me in play as well.

DalekZec4 votes

The main point everybody is supposed to know is that a game like League, you can't expect to make champions so unique with literally nothing in common. 140+ champions, let's assume each with 5 unique abilities (passive + QWER), that's 700+ abilities Riot has to make different from the other and for such a number in order to be so unique is just impossible. It'll require a miracle to even reach like 100 to begin with.

And the fact there are actually people who think like all "oh you copy bla bla bla!" is so delusional that they probably shouldn't even play League.

What a champions requires to become unique is just that 1 element that will make the champion original.

You want unoriginal shit where your complaint is actually valid? Looks at mobile legends. Look at that shit.
