Riot, can you clarify the interaction between Sanguine Pool and Tides of Blood?

I asked whether the interaction that Pooling before the Transfusion particles returned meant you lost the heal could be removed, and I was hoping to see whether that had been covered in his update.

Is it still the case that if you pool before the particles hit you you lose the heal or do we still receive the heal?
