My Experiences Traveling Through Gold/Silver (Smurf)

Möral Support·6/25/2019, 12:27:56 AM·20 votes·12,176 views

In my endeavors as a support main trying to reach back to platinum 1, I've notice a few things encompassed inside the lower elos.

Some of my findings are as follows:

  • Toxicity is at an all time HIGH in champion select. I've never been flamed so much for picking a champion at high elos. For instance, Yuumi is a love hate pick at these elos because she has such great potential to get your bottom lane fed. But your bottom laner will not admit you are the one carrying them in the bottom lane unless it becomes truly evident 9 kills later.

  • People are trying new champions they've only ever seen played against them. People are choosing to use Sylas, Pyke, and other new champions with 0 mastery points indicating that this is their first time using said champion.

  • Many people still have the mentality that they are the best player on the team and don't need to listen to the (obviously) much more experienced players in their game. They begin to engage in 1v2 situations late game costing the game for all players.

These findings are just reflections on what I have encountered in my journey in the lower elos and do not apply to ALL players.

The basic rules.

If you win no matter how hard, or easy write "gg ez" at the end. You won't get punished for it ever, and enemy will be outraged.

If you win lane, then losing the game is not your fault no matter what.

If your teammate is soft losing the lane, then DON'T YOU DARE to help him. If soft lose turns into hard lose, then start flaming, if enemy start roam, then flame, if teammate dies to gank, then flame, if teammate lose turret, then flame.

Botlane stat is always combined. And no matter how good/bad the carry, or support they go together. Even if one afks out for babyrage the other is to blame as well.

If you lose even just slightly, then spam surr. after 15.

You are free to quit for whatever reason you have. Such as denied penta, being ganked more by enemy than team, or simply having a bad moment. You need to go afk at least 25 times in a month to get real punishment. Use it!

I'd also add: Generally.... people in Silver simply do not like to be carried. If you assert authority/knowledge, they literally care about punishing you for it. They will actually tell you to F off, and then int feed the rest of the game in the guise of "pushing." Or they will refuse to group, and solo push top the rest of the game.

They will also "defend" using that 0 Mastery champ! Or, they will choose two-three champs in the SAME GAME that all only have absolute late game presence, like Kayle + Yuumi + Vayne..... and actually think they will survive to late game with that team composition! And then once you warn them they won't get there, they tell team to report the Kayle after the Kayle feeds 8 times before level 7 (Like that wasn't predictable).

They will absolutely troll if you choose something they consider off meta too. nearly 70% of the time I pick Zyra jungle, I get the same exact comment: Zyra Jungle? Zyra can't jungle! Nearly 60% of teams say the exact same thing about Morgana. Lmfao.

Bingo! My findings too. Well said.

If you are a smurf you are matchmade against other smurfs who are generally more toxic

What I have noticed is that silver 2-gold 3 is elo hell. Unranked get dumped in silver 1 and 2, no one listens, everyone thinks they are gods. Constant people trying to "split push" while the enemy team is taking an inhib. Playing champs they have never played in ranked. People trolling b/c they didnt get a champ in champ select, or rage quitting/trolling b/c they have low self esteem and get triggered/tilted so easily.

hows about u stop ruining games in silver/gold and then ppl might be less toxic all around?

the amount of smurfs in silver/gold is really triggering and absolutely destroys match quality.

you are abusing the system to smash a bunch of n00bs.

GJ.

Story checks out :))

MasterDClone6/25/2019, 6:30:48 AM2 votes

the most toxic elo i have ever been in is plat by far, because everyone up here are meta slaves who think they are the best and as a one trick it gets ridiculous to get flamed every champ select and all throughout the game every game

Jane Darby6/25/2019, 2:20:22 PM2 votes

My thoughts on lower elo: These players do not have a very strong mental. Most of them have anger management issues along with other things. They all have god complexes. No one is smart (evident in champ select when no one picks counter picks, or straight up picks something in which they get hard countered). If you don't have the most kills on the team no one will listen to you (even if you have the fewest deaths and the most farm). Even if you do have the most kills on the team no one will listen to you (cause you're probably flaming your team for not having kills). People are just fucking mental at low elo.

Edit: Also god forbid you play Lux in the apc posistion with a legit support, cause bronze ppl lose their fucking minds and lock in Janna jgl.

Yea, I made a smurf a while ago and duod with a friend over mic, I muted all chat. One day my friend cant play so I decide to play ranked alone, due to this all chat is unmuted, I was around gold 3 at the time, literally eat a chat restrict in like 3 matches from speaking to people WHO. JUST. CANNOT. LISTEN.

No matter what you say they will try to 1v3, it doesnt matter what champion they are playing. I FUCKING SAW A MORGANA FLASH R INTO A NASHOR PIT WITH NO ZHONYAS, GET BLOWN UP AND SPAM PING THE TEAM. WTF THEY HAD A DARIUS WHAT ARE YOU DOING

AnotherFeeder6/25/2019, 4:31:55 AM1 votes

Wtf did u just refer to as high elos?

U R Good At Game6/25/2019, 1:13:16 PM1 votes

From my experience Gold is nothing more than who ever get's caught less wins tbh. So many players make the most random decisions 24/7. Oh, team's pushing mid and calling for a siege? Guess I'll invade their gromp and die to their jg and their top who was rotating mid to defend.... then the entire team has to back off, give up obj priority and reset... Like forget toxicity and feeding, getting caught throws more games than I have ever seen in gold. It's ESPECIALLY bad with ADCs in gold. The amount of times I have seen an ADC split push solo with no vision clear into enemy territory then yell an assassin is OP because they got popped is actually insane. Like No, rengar isn't broken, your decision to splitbush until you were directly under rengar's red buff solo was OP.

/rant

But really though, you can legit solo win games by just picking an ass-save champion that makes up for the fact that 90% of your team's deaths will be from getting caught.

They play for fun what can I say

The amount of wards placed in the games of this elo is just disturbing. I typically have nearly the same amount of wards as midlaner compared to support and have better ward placements.

They also do not know a clue how to ward against Hecarim, Kayn, Shaco, Eve or Udyr making these strong picks obviously.
