Why don't people in low elo peel for their adc?

thacrazytaco·9/11/2016, 4:28:18 AM·19 votes·14,502 views

I've rarely ever been peeled for ever, tank running straight towards me? good luck me i ain't getting no fucking help. Then half the time they have the audacity to flame me for it. The one time i did get a team that peeled for me, that feeling gave me an erection lasting over 4 hours. But that was 1 time in over a 100 games, and peeling for your god damn carry is what will make or break the fight. You don't even need cc just fall on top of me and the guy locking me down so i can reposition jesus.

Because the ADC usually runs into melee range at that elo.

How do you peel that?

Think I have a conversation about this like once a month. People ask me what I'd climb with if I started from scratch. I say I'd go support. They mention that supporting isn't worthwhile because marksmen don't farm well enough or position well enough to be worth protecting. I disagree.

It's the lack of faith in teammates. Hard to get over that from both sides of the coin.

Important Phrase: Low Elo.

i don't peel for my adc sometimes because they don't position in a place that i can peel for them. like stand in the frontline. facecheck a bush. or stand so far back after an initiation for no reason whatsoever that they just get jumped on by a zed.

adcs are supposed to stand in a safe area that their frontline creates. not move all over the fucking place and confuse the shit out of the team. which is easier? . the 1 should follow the 4 not the other way around

WW player from recent game I played: "ADC is sooooo easy. Just play safe lol"

So most likely, it's because of players mentalities. The "gotta carry" attitude means that they have to be the ones dealing damage. Not you.

the only thing you can peel in bronze is ur own hair

TTK Dreadnought9/11/2016, 4:30:23 AM2 votes

It depends on who youre playing with really. If i'm playing nautilus top/jg. you can definitely expect me to both peel for whoever is carrying and deal moderate damage.

Firstly, I fulfil what you claim low elo people like mahself don't do, it's why I play the tanks I play (naut, sej, zac, sion and tahm kench)

But in regards to your question. Many people have mentioned a lack of faith and that is a big part of it. Many low elo players (bronze to mid gold IMO) share the mindset of a "solo-carry" , cloud out their team mates as they view them as a hindrance and live in a "god complex" (they're perfect, always right and belong in diamond). They view themselves as the teams only hope, hogging cs and kill gold from other lanes in a sad effort to fulfil their fantasy of "solo-carrying" their way out of bronze/silver. When everything falls to crap, say they start dropping off while the enemy scales or their team mates are too far behind due to gold deprivation, they generally don't go "oops I hogged all the gold MB". More so "OMFG YOU'RE ALL SO SHIT! REPORTED COS YOU'RE TO HEAVY TO CARRY SCRUBS". That begins an endless cycle of; get completely up yourself, hog all the gold as a knight in shining armour, get pissed off when your team can't play as if they're hyper fed and then blame and loose faith in them because they haven't lived up to your expectations.

However there have been cases where I have wondered "wtf is this guy doing?" As I've popped every spell, locket and randuins but instead of running away or using me to block projectiles..... they charge head first into a lethal front line thinking they can 1v1 while my stuff's on cool down. Or you really do get the occasional poor soul who really does have no idea (perhaps was forced into a role their bad at last season) and cops allot of flack from your hyper fed team mates. Do I change peel priority if this happens? yep. What if both hyper carries do it? Hit and hope.

100 TIMES THIS

AS SOMEONE WHO HAS BEEN PLAYING ADC A LOT MY TEAM ALMOST NEVER PEELS FOR ME.

I'll stay in the back of my team during fights, I'll use my ult defensively if someone is on top of me (I'm a level 7 Xayah), I'll ping I need assistance

My entire team runs up ahead to chase people and leaves me to die, and then questions why I don't do anything..

In higher elos people actually run "protect the adc" teamcomps because your adc DOES A LOT OF CONSISTENT DAMAGE. It's not like a mage who bursts, your adc is half or even all of your damage on a team. Your adc is the one melting tanks. If you have no adc you will not have a big chunk of damage, why are you letting them die?

You should want to protect your adc at all costs ESPECIALLY if they are fed. Do NOT RUN DOWN LANE OR CHASE PEOPLE AND LEAVE THE ADC ALONE IN FIGHTS.

I can't tell you how many games I've lost where I won my lane, gotten fed, and we constantly lose teamfights because my team refuses to peel for me and protect me so that I can do what I need to do. All I need is maybe 1 person to just make sure I'm protected so that I can dish out my damage.

That's not me being like a stubborn privileged brat or anything whining that I want protection. That's me saying in order for us to win fights, I need to do damage, and I can't do that if the enemy is on top of me.

If you want to win fights then you need to protect your damage dealers.

"im an independent supprot im no ones bitch XDXDXDXDXDXDXD"

Most people play with the mentality of "don't trust your teammates" so they don't even peel for anyone, but in reality all they need to do is know when and who to peel. It's not just "peel the ADC", but moreso "peel whoever is fed", usually including ADCs.

From the perspective of a Top lane player, peeling for your ADC in low tiers is actually a gamble. Let's say everyone plays perfectly, now the game comes down to which team has the more beefy front line or which AD outputs the most damage. While you're giving your AD more room to breathe and carry, you are also allowing the enemies AD the same exact thing as they aren't being pressured since the team is just peeling for their DPS. Unless it's late game and your AD is doing extremely well, there's absolutely no reason to ever put yourself into that scenario where the fights come down to two players while you sit around being a punching bag for them.

IMO, the reason no one peels in low tiers is because it's simply not worth it. 90% of the time, it's far easier to carry games yourself with good mechanics and decision making.

I think you answered it by saying it's low elo. They probably don't know or understand.

Miku Append9/12/2016, 6:14:42 AM1 votes

If it's below Plat, or even low Plat, don't expect for them to peel for you ever. I mean, I peel hardcore for my ADCs as a support... unless they're a prick, then they get no peel and no heal. [slayer-jinx-wink]

Oleandervine9/12/2016, 11:37:37 AM1 votes

I've peeled for many dying ADCs who think that me busting every CC spell I own is the green light to re-engage when they have a sliver of HP remaining. They die. Why do I bother peeling if the ADC isn't smart enough to leave a fight when they're about to die?

Unstoppable Monk9/12/2016, 11:43:50 AM1 votes

I still have no idea why Braum supports wait until I have 15% of my health left or save their ultimate for no apparent reason.

I started maining assassins when I found out most of the ad's in low ELO don't move in between aa's. I climbed to G1

Kaioko9/13/2016, 7:10:23 PM1 votes

You're essentially asking the same question as to why failing students get bad grades or fat students are bad at sports. In most cases if they weren't failing they wouldn't get bad grades, and if they were good at sports they wouldn't be chubby.

Same thing for League - if they understood game mechanics and the importance of peeling for their ADC, they wouldn't be in a low ELO.

tank running straight towards me? good luck me i ain't getting no fucking help.

Well stuff like this is a catch 22.......i mean think about it. Lets say im supporting you with Leona or Malphite. I am the tank, I am expected to initiate the fights. My target it supposed to be the other teams adc or another squish. If i spam my kit going in on them.......the rest of the team should be following up. Now abilities are on cooldown....what am i going to use to peel for you?

Now change it up. Lets say I go straight bodygaurd mode and now im just saving abilities to use on whoever comes for you...whos going to initiate?

that feeling gave me an erection lasting over 4 hours.

As far as that....that might of been the viagra lol.....you know in the commercial it says if it last longer than 4 hours to seek a doctor lol.
