I get complaints like this when I take him mid or "we have all ad" which tilts my team so hard to the point of them feeding. What's so bad about taking J4 mid when Talon/Zed/Yasuo are accepted as AD mid? Personally, I have decent success with him and the only reason I can see him being hated is the lack of AoE damage for teamfight, but that doesn't really put him in a worse spot compared to Zed/Talon and he could burst as hard as Yasuo.
Shuyin1781 votesIt's not that you shouldn't take him mid, it's when you take him mid while you have a lot of AD. He is better into top lane matchups usually though if he isn't in the jungle.

Full ad team should be no problem in the world where most apc is useless after one mr item.
Ad also has a lot of armor pen items so armor shouldnt be much of problem except if there is a rammus.

shred is hard to apply.
are BS champs so they dont count.
one of main problems is his shred on Q and how most people overlook it and dont even try to dodge it, other wise he dont deal as much damage as Crit ADCs with 3 items.
ValyrianBlade1 votesIf they're complaining that you're all AD, they probably also complain to the Yasuos, Zeds, and Talons of the world. I mean, I see those complaints all the time when someone picks any AD mid on my team (I think them too, although I don't type it).
J4 is perfectly viable mid, and insanely strong in some matchups (hello Vlad). However, like any other AD mid, you need a different source of magic damage. Even forcing 1 MR buy helps all the AD on your team deal significantly more damage all game long.

Tanky top/ap damage top Ap damage jg/tanky jungle You Insert any adc here Aoe magic damage support (sona also works as an example)
You need to have magic damage on your team for an AD mid to work out effectively. Otherwise, welcome to league of
