I was hoping someone with a greater knowledge of champions then myself could tell me what champion would have what i am looking for based off the info below.

I am looking for: -Some form of sustain -Some form of escape -Some sort of presence in team fights -Someone with a medium skill cap. Not as high as lee sin, but not warwick status either -Can play at least 2 roles effectively

Nocturne Trundle Shen

Nocturne isn't exceptionally good right now, but he fits all your requests. His escape isn't a dash but does give him pretty good MS. He is jungle mainly but also top and mid.

Trundle has same escape as Noc pretty much, but also with a slow. He can go top, mid or jungle.

Shen can go top and support. Fits all your requests well.

That's 2 comments saying shen.. ill keep it in mind thank you.

Careful, since he is getting a rework soon.

3ofGot40ve1 votes

Is he? I never saw anything about that.

Meep Man1 votes

If you go to the Riot Upcoming Reworks section he is listed there.

It won't be a huge rework given its not a VU, but it will change some gameplay aspects. I'm willing to bet the dash will stay the same though, main changes will most likely be to the Q and W.

shen is going to get a small rework so be warned. But trundle is coming back into meta and will see some fun ranked play. He is gonna be the next champ i buy.

Any insight on vladamir?

Alright thanks everyone. I am going to try vlad and shen and see how I like them.

Maokai believe it or not this guy can play almost any role except ADC. He has a hard engage a probing E and great peel for a support or off support jungler. He was never really nerfed that hard just his ult which is still great in teamfights. Overall one of my favorites. And his passive gives you sustain and helps sooo much in the jungle and works well in lane but it takes a bit to use right. He was in almost every top lane last season.

Try zac out, he's got all the qualities you're asking for, he's mobile and highly sustained and he's really disruptive in teamfights

This is a hard question to answer. Not only because of the requirements. But because of your play style most likely being different from a large group of players. Which my playstyle is most likely not close to yours. Though I am unsure.

Aatrox Gragas Hecarim Irelia Kindred Renekton Tryndamere Rengar all fit the requirements relatively well. They can be played Top and Jungle, for most of them. In a completely different style Bard has sustain, an escape, an undeniable presence in team fights and a medium-high skill cap :p

I have tried hecarim and aatrox. For some reason even though I enjoy hec I am not good with his mana and for some reason I am really bad with him. Gragas is fun, although im not sure if he is viable top still. I have never played renek or irelia. Tryndamere is strong but I get bored of him quickly from farming so much. He fits me well though. Rengar, same idea as hec. im just bad with him :/

A few champs come to mind that I think fits your description.

Shen and Vladimir.

Both have a q that can heal, Shen has a heal over time va Vladimir who is instant.

Both have an 'escape':

shen has his shadow dash that can be used through terrain(like flash), Vladimir has is blood pool, it makes him untargetable and increases bis speed(can counterplay many abilities)

Both have great presence in a team fight: with Shen you can dash I to all 5 enemy champs(assuming position) to taunt them while your team puts everything they got. His ult can pull off crazy saves too. Vladimir has a great ult for team fights, as soon as you cast it on the enemy team it amplifies all damage by 12% not just your damage, but the whole teams damage plus the damage it does after the 5 seconds of casting it.

Both have easy to understand kits, Shens kit is simple, yet effective. Q can heal, w provides a shield and cool down on passive, E is the dash which can be used to engage or escape from the enemy, taunting them, R can save champs and puts you right In a team fight.

Vlads kit requires of managing so to speak, his q is his main poke ability providing heal and making cs easier. W is his blood pool which makes him untargetable taking a portion of his health but can heal based off a percentage from whoever is in the pool. His E uses his health but increase damage per ata k and healing capability. And his R is his team damage amplifier ability plus what ever mafic damage from the after effect.

I can play Shen in every role and Vladimir can do top or mod.

I just got Vlad 3 days ago and overall I've been doing pretty well, he's really fun along with Shen.

I have tried vlad before and all though I wasn't super fed or anything, I didn't die once and I had a lot of fun. Maybe I will try him again!

The first champion that came to my mind is, though I don't play it much, Irelia .

She has quite some skillcap in lane management to setup minions to dash to with reset, to prepare stun instead of slow, temporize by dashing around on those minions you setup etc. , has sustain, can dive the backline while being very CC-resilient due to her passive. You can play her top/mid and maybe jungle, but she's mostly top. I think you can watch some irelia montages to see that she's not braindead at all.

Aatrox Gragas Shen Zac

All of these champions fit that description.

Aatrox is the very definition of sustain in this game currently. His Q can be used as a great escape and has an opener to a team fight while his E can also be used to disrupt the enemy team and poke with a heavy slow. He isn't super easy to play, but isnt extremely hard either. Top and Jungle

Gragas has sustain through his passive, the weakest of sustain here. However, he has pretty good escape potential and arguably the most presence in a team fight of everyone listed here. Like Aatrox, not super easy, not super hard. Need to learn how to manage where the enemy is with his ultimate. Top, Middle (arguably), and Jungle

Shen has been listed here many times, but I will list him anyways. His sustain has been known for making him an absolute brick wall in lane that is extremely hard to get out. His E is a very good escape AND makes his presence in a teamfight huge. His ultimate is also incredible. He is probably the hardest of everyone listed here, almost entirely due to his ultimate, but you can give him a try. Top, Jungle (arguably), and Support

Zac fits everything you said to the extreme and probably fits this more than Shen, actually. His sustain is insane and his escape potential through his E, although limited by hard crowd control (who isnt?) is almost the greatest in the game. His E and R make him an INCREDIBLE initiator in a fight and his passive size increase from health makes him a great meat shield for the first bit of the fight. On a side note, his deceivingly good at dueling and most wont expect that. Just pick up the blobs. Top and Jungle

If I were to recommend one of these, it would DEFINITELY be Zac since he fits all of your wishes to the extreme while everyone else has something else strapped onto their kit besides your wishes. Zac is the living and breathing combination of your "looking for" list.

TL;DR I would heavily recommend trying Zac , not only because he fits everything, but because Aatrox and Shen are planned for reworks and Gragas has the weakest sustain of the lot, which I think is what you want the most since you listed it first and at the top.

Thanks so much for the lengthy reply, I actually got him in the mystery champion from riot. Will try all of the recommendations and see what fits me well.

How come no one mentioned Cho'Gath?

Has crowd control for engaging enemies and escaping them. Tanky with plenty of life building and regen. Has one of the highest base movement speed stats. And can be played Top, Mid, Jg, Supp, Tank, and AP Carry.

3ofGot40ve1 votes

good point

DeathBurst1 votes

As for me, I didn't mention it, because CC is not escape. It can be used as a last resort, but what do you do if you are engaged from 2 different directions by your laner and the jungler, for instance?

BadmoonBC1 votes

i think vlad sounds like your guy. Awesome sustain Awesome escape(pool) Great presence especially his ult in team fights Medium skill cap Goes top or mid Also, another great thing you don't have listed on here is wave clear and class wave clear isn't terrible

The other people here listed mostly top lakers but vlad goes mid or top Vladimir is tanky and does insane damage late game. Another bonus if your a newer player he doesn't have mana or a resource pool(except his health) so you don't need to worry about conserving mana/energy. Vlad is perfect for you man. And his late game, I'm telling ya.... He gets super tanky and does super damage

I have a friend who owns him, i will try him on his account. I think he is my guy, thanks for the response!
