Why do snares stop channeling spells? (Complaint about Galio UP)

Galio is in need of some love. I just got my ultimate ruined by a Leblanc with her chain ensnare. How is that fair? It just restricts Galio from moving, how would that prevent him from standing still forcing enemies to attack him, logically? It doesn't make sense. Next thing I know, Janna uses her ultimate to knock me away because she's no longer taunted. Not that it matters, it's the fact that the ultimate gets interrupted and doesn't deal any damage at all every time that happens, and there are way too many ways to interrupt it.

Snares stopping recall makes sense, because recall is a mobility thing. But normal channeling stuff shouldn't be lumped in with recall.

Besides fixing up his ultimate, you could do the thing where an ability scales with more than one type of stat. You could make the healing from the shield for Galio be increased, based on MR/armor/health, you could also increase the damage on resolute smite by any one of those stats(we see Shaco getting bonus AD and AP scaling both on his 2-shiv poison, so it seems reasonable for Galio to get for example armor or health scaling for the smite). We can even go with a defense stat(probably MR) boosting the movement speed bonus(what, Janna can have her movement speed scale with AP but Galio doesn't get stat scaling movement speed? that's not fair) from his windstorm. This concept goes along with my previously made thread about tanks needing their abilities to scale more with the 'tank stats' instead of with just AP all over the place.

Snares don't stop channels.

That was either a bug or you missed whatever actually interrupted your channel.

I checked out the replay and watched it over and over and over again and that was the only thing it could have been. Initially I assumed there was a bug allowing Alistar to kick Galio even though they were on the same team(but even before the game ended I knew the push back had to have been due to Janna and that it was irrelevant to whatever stopped the channeling), but closer inspection shows there is a slight delay between Galio losing the channel of his ultimate and him getting pushed away and the only thing really hitting him at all outside of the ultimate was Leblanc's chain, and nobody had anything funky like Braum's basic ability that would stop him from channeling by just attacking. Furthermore, the chain snare delay time matches perfectly with the timing on Galio getting his ultimate interrupted. Also, I don't think Leblanc is the only one that can cancel it with her snare, I think any snare will do the same thing. I think I've had Lux for example cancel it.

There was an Ekko on the enemy team. Is it possible that his W was cast on you and your taunt dragged him into it to proc the stun?

If not, I'd recommend posting this as a bug.

Oh, my bad. I think you're right about it being the active on his sphere. I knew how Ekko worked but the visual for that ability is practically invisible unless you're Ekko. Maybe they should tweak that. In game I had 2 options then. Use my ultimate sooner and miss getting some people in it, but maybe finish it before Ekko's stun triggers on me, or just not use it at all and wait again. I ended up only channeling for maybe 1.33 or 1.5 seconds or so. :/

His ult is buggy. I Don't think snares are supposed to interrupt him.
