ekko is an assassin/mage so duh hes gonna snowball. items make him op and his base damage on his ulti (i think)
TheDarkinLegend3 votesDude, look at his kit. He has 2 slows, huge AP scaling, tons of mobility, a self heal with his ult....he has too many escapes....OH and he does bonus magic damage with basic attacks and %of missing health AND a shield that enjoys scaling with 150% AP.
He is a total bullshit champion. He makes fizz and LB seem easy and tame.

i played against a normal assassin ekko, and tank ekko and none of them were allowed to snowball so they did nothing
all u need to do is make sure the ekko isnt legendary or godlike. Ekko cant do much if he dont have the items

That is wrong as hell. If a champion is broken, they will get fed in a large variety of games, not just one game. This leads to a high winrate, which riot will see to nerf. You can keep telling yourself that a champion that is broken is not, but eventually you'll realize thats not the case and the champion is busted. We've all been there.

Valexfor1 votesWhile ekko might be a problematic champ you have no rights to call riot "amateurs". We all reach that point where we scream that rioters are just idiotic monkeys (or something like that) who don't know anything about the game, but in the end they made the game you are playing and the game is going on since 2009 so it's 7 years old and it's getting always bigger, so they sure as hell aren't amateurs and take theyr job seriously, they do make mistakes and have a long history of not acknowledging them only to make things worse but that doesn't make them amateurs. That said: Ekko is problematic since he's an assassins with the tools of a tank so while his design is not flawed per se, he is incredibly hard to balance: give him too high bases and he can just play tanky, give him too high scaling and he can just melt people with nothing they can do about it, but if you give him both extremely high scaling but too low bases then he becomes too weak. Also they are working on changes that would force ekko into the assassin position withouth making him too strong so it's not like they're just leaving him like he is or even buffing him, they are trying to do something about him, and they really don't deserve to be treated in such a rude way.

Do you realize how many changes are done every patch? Its like...the game is so far out of balance that crap loads much change every patch. Dragon MUST be changed 5 times a year apparently too.
I think their company has bad leadership. I think that each Riot employee is probably very good at what they do but their opinions, analysis and ideas are often stifled due to higher ups pushing an agenda or change that they want to see happen, despite the problems with it. Ive seen this happen internally in many companies, and all the patterns are there to make me pretty sure that's what it is---bad, probably egotistical, leadership.

Even if it's like you said and riot's employees are just subjected to bad leadership and are forced to push these bad changes on the game, you are moslty bashing at those people who have theyr hands tied behind theyr backs, which isn't right. That said: riot is working on changes to ekko to make his assassin build more appealing than his tank build so lets just bear with the abomination that is tank ekko for a little while longer.

An assassin shouldn't have multiple or reliable CC and 2+ low cd/reliable slows is near perma-slow which I count as a hard CC, combine that with the stun of his W and that's way too much CC on an assassin.
I have no ideas if they were to rework W but I feel that would be the better choice in the matter.
