There's something wrong with Thresh and Relic(?)

Everytime I get a Thresh support or when I play thresh, whenever Thresh attacks a minions at (lets say) 100hp, and the Relic proc is ready, it wouldn't execute the minion and the adc ends up losing cs because they relied on the Thresh to execute the Cannon. So what I'm wondering is: Is it a bug or do thresh AA's count as ranged? Thank you

Thresh is ranged, Relic shield procs the execute only on melee attacks

despit ehis attack animation thresh is ranged. in fact his original champ design was to hav ehim be an adc. and he can still play as one actually.

The best support for that lane is Blitzcrank of course.

Blitz pulls them in, both keep them there, then thresh drags them back when they try to escape...
