Cassieopia....maybe Morgana too, but focus on Cassieopia....

Hey! I won't be like all the other posters ranting on about, angrily, how Cass is a truckload weaker now than ever before. I just would really like to bring to attention, in case you have been much busier with other things, which is probably the case, Cass needs some love...I know it is hard to create a balanced rework for a champ but I don't want to feel like this is all Cass will be from now on...I loved her champ design....I love everything about her, I am just asking that Cass get a close look at and buffed/fixed...do not leave an entire champ player base hanging...please remember to show her some love, and please talk to the community about the changes/plan you have for her...a lot of the others might be mad and upset and insult you all but, there are those out there who are supportive and understanding of the process, we just want answers.

Thank You!

P.S. If we could maybe revert Morgana back to her good ol' mid-lane self, it would be much appreciated...she is a Mage first, Support second...let's focus on the mage part!!

Thank ya!!!!

Riot refuses to admit their mistake on Cassiopeia and revert the rework.

Sad day :(

Thanks for the not angry post. I agree, Cass definitely needs something, she has a lot of potential lategame power, but doesn't have the tools to access it. She just has to farm constantly, and there are champs like that, but they also get their powerspike much more quickly.

I think Riot took a week-long break from PBE changes, but it appears they are back and balancing things again! My hope is that she gets a change sometime this week, even if its just experimental and doesn't make the next patch. I realize its hard to balance champions on PBE right now with all the changes, but something has to be done.

As for Morg, I don't know why they are making such silly nerfs. Why not target her Q CC, which is what makes her OP as a support. I was talking to my Diamond-ranked Mid Morg main friend and he says that adjusting the width of her Q projectile to actually match the visuals would be a big nerf, perhaps all she needs.

I still see Morgana as a high skill high reward champion, her q CAN have a weird hitbox but then again it is also hard to hit...maybe not in teamfights but other than that, it can be hard to hit. Then again i do agree she could use a nerf if people would be happier that way, but not to her power, she needs everything she has to get a kill and then some.

Its really not that hard to hit. It could be I just play with a really good Morgana player all the time, but even I can hit it pretty regularly (and I hardly play Morgana because of playing with the Morg main all the time). Its actually fairly wide, wider than the visuals would have you believe. It moves about the same speed as Lux's Light Binding while being twice as wide and lasting much longer (I know that Lux can potentially get two people, but still).

If she had to have a nerf, I agree, her actual damage is the wrong place to do it. That's why I suggest a nerf to the width of Dark Binding; not much, just to match the current visuals, which would also improve readability. The width nerf would still be a nerf to both mid and support Morgana BUT it would be a much more reasonable nerf that would make the ability still feel fair. Dark Binding is supposed to be a challenging skill to land, but really rewarding when it lands, lasting a fairly long time. Why not make it a little harder to hit, making the risk match the reward better and allowing Morg's opponents to not feel as frustrated when they do get hit by it? I just feel its a more reasonable nerf.

Nerfing her damage is pretty much hurting mid Morgana more than support Morg. Nerfing the duration of her root sort of messes up her entire kit, more-so for mid than support. Nerfing the width of the Q missile still nerfs mid Morgana, except it forces you to be more skilled and more precise with your skillshots, rather than just being a numbers nerf.

The hard part about nerfing the duration is it hurts mid Morgana more than support. She relies on keeping enemies in the AoE of Tormented Soil for as much of its five second duration as possible in order to do damage. She also needs to keep them in her Ult for 3 seconds.

To reduce the snare duration without nerfing mid Morgana, the rest of her kit would need to be adjusted so she still gets the rest of her damage in. Tormented Soil in theory is Morgana's highest potential damage source, though to get that potential damage you would have to be close enough to 0 hp for the game to count you as missing 100% of your hp for the full duration.

Personally, I think Morgana is rarely a good support pick just for her snare (the one reason I consider it good is for locking down Tryndamere for the majority of his ultimate). While the duration is lower, Zyra's snare is better in most cases because it is multi target. The main reason to pick Morgana is the the CC immunity on her Black Shield, which is the one thing that she can do that no other champion can. It goes really good with channeled abilities.

That's why I was suggesting nerfing the width of the missile rather than the duration: still a nerf, but one that makes it more skill-oriented rather than numbers.

I think there are actually a few reasons she is seeing so much support play. Her snare is unbelievably good from any position, and can really turn games just by catching out people. CC is always good on a support, ergo Morgana does well there. She can also get gold really easily with Tormented Soil + Spellthief. You mentioned her spell shield, which is a great support move of course, and can counter popular picks like Ali and Thresh. Lastly, her ult is used a little differently in support: she uses it to peel rather than aggressively go into the enemy like a mid Morg would.

Width changes have a certain amount of self balancing, if it is thinner then it is easier to sneak through minions. It is only with extremely thin skill shots (Jinx's ZAP!) that it becomes a problem.

Also the visual is about half the size of the hit box on the classic skin. Ghost Bride skin has fairly accurate visuals though.

Morgana was a mid-lanner in seasons 1 & 2 because the income supports got was barely enough to purchase wards, and she has clear gold scaling in utalizing her ultimate and Black Shield.

Now that supports actually get enough gold to build stuff, she's pretty solid as a support.

Also - look up "support" under this site.

Now look at the number of champions that show up under "mage", "fighter", "tank", and "assassin" searches.

Supports are hurting for champion picks, especially when solid ones like Lulu jump ship and become mid or top lanners.

Yeah i know :( That's why I am wishing and hoping that Rito will be nice and release another support...yeah yeah yeah we just got braum but i mean I want another support in the same tier as Sona or Soraka, yknow, a nice utility support like them will be awesome!! or a debuff support would be an awesome concept.
