Lets talk about Lethality

Do you think its a issue again? Back in season 6 when we had adc's abuse armor pen, Changed to Lethality, then it got buffed now to be used (Abused right word?) By Specific ADCs: Jhin and Varus to name the few

Are we going back to "Lethality on every adc" since the buff in 7.2? Is Lethality healthy at the moment? What changes would be acceptable for the stat itself?

MF and Jhin built lethality all along and with the change, we are now seeing it being used on Varus in a similar way. The goal was to help assassins (Talon is no longer trash now since he can snowball that early game) and it worked by bringing less played champions out of the woodwork. So I like the diversity in the champ pool because of the change.

Before in the armour pen days, the Marksman abuse was out of control. The curve was in a good spot before, but now it's not as steep a climb to build your items for. For the most part, they are trading constant DPS for burst "because ADC 2017" so they need more of an impact right out of the gate vs constant, high output DPS.

balance MF and Jhin and other ADCs that build it around using lethality, not crit

unless you do something extreme like make lethality melee only or just completely dumpster their base damages and force them to rely on crit, they're gonna keep building

I think making it so that you can't buy last whisper if you have flat pen would be a good start to preventing them from building a burst build and still doing relevant damage to tanks, too

Lethality is a burst stat. Some ADCs are more burst oriented, like Jhin, so they arguably benefit more from armor pen than traditional ADC items. There's nothing wrong with that. There's still a trade off between burst vs sustained damage dealers.

Lethality cannot be said to be a problem until you see attackspeed/crit based champions preferring to use it over all other damage options. Since you're not seeing that, it shows us that lethality functions right where it was intended to - on burst or ability oriented AD champions.
