What about Pantheon?
Since they're reworking assassins to be less binary - I'd say Panth has many traits of an assassin himself. His role is blowing up squishy targets in an instant. In lane, he's basically feast or famine, where his relevance in the game is completely reliant on his performance early game. If he doesn't manage to snowball, he becomes irrelevant. If he does, he blows people up in .5 sec with a point and click combo. He's basically a walking stat check outside of lane.
Once he jumps on you with a point-and-click stun, he's going to do a guaranteed amount of dmg with his E, and there is no counterplay to it other than don't step in his stun radius unless you have at least 1 complete armor item or you die. His entire kit is point and click and he has one of the very few remaining point and click non ult hard CCs without any condition attached to it.
I don't think the champ is overpowered by any means - he has clear weaknesses and bad matchups, but he lacks meaningful counterplay and doesn't fit in the same direction as the assassins like Akali Fizz and LB who were remade because they have traits like Pantheon.
