Anivia is the most uninteractive mid laner. I know this will be downvoted but I don't care.

dakota saturn··37 votes·6,107 views

She encompasses everything I hate about this game. If you get nicked by her Q, she follows up with E and out-trades every other mid laner. If you are playing any type of melee champion you automatically lose the lane.

After 6, all she does is walk up to the lane, presses R, collects 6 CS with absolutely no interaction or skill, and walks away. If you try to hit her at any point, you have to pass through her lane-wide R and get chunked by her E.

If you actually manage to get anywhere near her, she still has her passive to further punish you for actually bothering to interact with her.

I get she's immobile. I get she has high mana costs.

But she literally presses a button and walks away and there is nothing you can do. It's so frustrating.

The end.

He's a dumb champ as well, but his turrets' only real threat is the laser they shoot on a specific timer, and can be dodged. A lot of champs can outrange his turrets and farm off them. He's awful to lane against for melee opponents as well, but he has almost no kill pressure and, again, most of his damage can be dodged (turret laser, grenade, rockets). You can't dodge Anivia E if you go anywhere near her.

Wait what? You're telling me that those lasers aren't automatic hits like auto attacks?!

How do you dodge them?!

If you're actually asking the question, move one way while they're firing, then move another way as they laser escapes the barrel. If you're paying attention to the charge bar you should be okay, since they always fire predictively.

If you're not, I apologize for my poor ability to suggest sarcasm...

Morgana puts pool down and can walk away starting at level 5. if you're AP she'll just shield your damage and CC. She also uses less mana to clear a wave than anivia does.

Her waveclear has been heavily nerfed - she USED to be a 'press button walk away' champion, but now she at least has to auto attack to clear, unless she has a huge lead. Most champs don't have a 'press button walk away' mechanic anymore, because it's a TOXIC, UN FUN MECHANIC TO PLAY AGAINST. The only real offenders at this point are Anivia and Nasus . Every other champ has to at least auto attack a few times or be at least lv 7+ to oneshot unless you feed them.

Her shield only blocks like 100 dmg unless she is putting points into it, which hurts her damage a lot and if you dodge her Q, she literally can't do anything to you and you can just turn and kill her. She also can't completely screw over a melee laner with anivia's retarded wall if they so much as step 3 feet from their turret. Morg's W does very little damage at this point and will almost never hit a full wave because it is tiny.

With anivia, once she puts her R down if you walk anywhere in lane, she will E and chunk you for at least 25-30% of your HP if she's not fed, and will oneshot you if she is. Anivia also can make her R last as long as she wants, guaranteeing it will kill all 6 CS without any risk at all, no matter how far behind she is (if she's somehow stupid enough to die with her passive and ridiculous CC), even if she has literally zero AP items, and just has Tear and Catalyst .

Once Anivia hits 6, if she's not completely retarded, she will push you to turret the rest of the game with zero counterplay. You can't even touch her once she hits six.

as someone who abuses her from time to time, believe me she still works like this. i think its 2 or 3 ranks on her w allows her to clear caster minions.

with 1 bigger ap item you get the melees aswell. the only thing left to auto attack is the cannon minions.

She has to give up significant chunks of mana to do it. Not to mention, its bad wave management. Its better to freeze the lane then constantly push if your opponent is also CSing. Force them to come forward, wall Q R dead.

ive never had mana issues using this method. on the other hand im also running teleport on her on mid lane.

and it depends on the situation. i just constantly hard push the lane with her, when i dont want my opponent to roam. i want him to feel constantly pressured and unable to leave the lane if he doesnt want to at least lose a minion wave or his turret starting to take damage.

especially against assassins and other mid laners who love to roam, this strategy is nasty.

its basically like the equivalent of tryndamere on mid lane. only that youre ranged. you do not stop pushing for a moment. youre pretty safe from ganks anyways like this. the only opening the enemy has for a gank would be when youre walking up to throw down another w. but you can just black shield yourself and walk away from those.

i actually often build banner of command on her second item. it usually works. at some point they leave lane and try to roam and lose at least their turret off it. you just keep constantly pushing and force the enemy attention and to react to your push, leaving little time to do anything else.

Errr no. Atleast in no decent elo. Mid is all about pressure+ roaming. chunk tower down, pin your opponent under the tower and go roam. Take the enemy junglers raptors, go bot or top. take enemy blue anything better than freezing. The only time you should freeze is if you have 100% kill pressure on your opponent and you can zone him off XP AND cs. Quas loves to do that, just today he played against poppy top. She was level 6 and 60 CS down and he didn't even kill her once.

NullDragon6 votes

Anivia in lane: Win trades with her as long as you can dodge THE GIANT FUCKING PROJECTILE WITH ONE OF THE SLOWEST PROJECTILE SPEEDS IN THE ENTIRE GAME.

Also stay out of her ult.

She's a zoning mage. She makes zones of NOPE that you have to stay out of. Don't go into the zones of NOPE and complain that half your health disappeared.

That's kind of like touching the oven and complaining that you burned your hand.

Fairyfleur4 votes

If you get hit by her q you deserve to be chunked.

Kitten of Evil4 votes

That's because her waveclear/zoning ult and her slowest-skillshot-in-the-game Q is really all she has left in lane now that they made her empowered E harder to land. She's incredibly mana-hungry, squishy, slow, and has fairly poor AA animation. Her first two items will be mana items.

You want to lane against her? Gank her when she pushes (because she will), or roam (because she can't). Or wait for her to use her R to clear minions, and go in right after it's down. It has a several-second cooldown.

I mean, I genuinely don't see how she's a less interactive pusher than Malzahar. Drop E on minions, throw a voidling out, collect 6 CS and maybe also tag the enemy champion with E if they're nearby.

You can interact with Malz because once he uses E on minions, he can't really do anything to you. His voidlings won't prioritize you, and you can avoid damage by not letting it bounce to you. When he walks up to E, you can jump on him and punish him. If you dont let him poke you and get free damage he won't kill you with just R unless he's fed or has a jungler camping for him.

With Anivia's R it covers the entire screen so even if she's not targetting you, you'll get tagged by her empowered R and get chunked by her point and click E.

Plus there's a single item that counters his entire kit item 3140

You also can't roam vs an Anivia because the second you leave lane, she's humping your turret with a full wave almost instantly. And if she takes Teleport, she can definitely match your roam.

Plus, one of the highest winrates in the game.

Kitten of Evil3 votes

Well right, but Malz doesn't NEED to do anything to you. You can't really stop him from farming, you can't gank him easily with his passive up, and he usually puts his E on the minion at the front of the wave + W, so you can't really do much to him from that range, and even if you could reach him, his passive is up again after the last wave (30 seconds is about the time between waves).

And that was your complaint with Anivia, wasn't it? That she can free-farm and you can't stop her? Because I really don't see how that isn't true of Malzahar. At least Anivia has way less kill pressure, since her Q is so slow, and you can walk out of her R before it fully forms.

You can't look at winrate in isolation, unless you compare it also with play/ban rates. After her latest nerfs, I'd be surprised if people play Anivia who aren't fairly experienced at her. She always had a pretty low play-rate, even before the ban.

level 7 and 600k aniv points, I have several points to make. 1. Her early game requires her to build tear and catylist or she'll be useless, mean while, while i spend 1850 gold getting those 2 items just to be viable, guess what every other mid laner can do? Build damage and unlike ryze i dont get bonus ap when building mana. So aniv lanning phase right now is to automatically be behind right from the start and be passive farm up and have no presence whatsoever. To further this once i hit 6 clearing out a wave of minions takes roughly 300-350 mana with her ult alone. Thats alot of mana just for one wave, its stupid.

  1. Her passive makes up for her abysmal early game. She cant farm with her q since the cost and cooldown is so god dam high compared to say ziggs annie syndra ahri kat that can pretty much spam there spells in lane. As well gives her -45 mr and armour at level 1 goes up by 5 per level making it easy af to take out early since you may as well be doing true damage.

2.Her Q is the one of if not the slowest restricting skill shots in the game, 12 sec cd at level 1 is ridiculous compared to every other mage in the game and being her only source of damage until 6. Hitting this at range without setting up a wall first is dam near impossible especially if a champ has any mobility. Tbh i would like it to be as fast as morg q at least but, since the mage update riot nerf its damage but didnt compensate it by lowering the cooldown or making it faster. So as of now she either uses her q to farm but be vulnerable to harras or save the q incase of enemy mid laner or jg decided to jump you, so your left with using her slow af auto attacks and miss cs likely being under tower while every other mid laner can spam.

3.Her E yes its a point a click nuke however, she has to set up with 2 other spells to get it off and even then since riot nerfed the base damage it doesnt do that much early. Unlike annie, vieg, syndra viktor, can just walk up to you press r and your dead.

  1. Since riot forced this empowered ult bs down our throats we have to keep you in the ult before we can e you, and while that might sound easy its really not. Playing against any mobility champ good fucking luck with that. Playing against non mobile champs? well prepared for your ult to be canceled instantly by any cc (except slows) If i could have it my way i would want her old ult back before the mage update since the goal of the mage update was to make mages less clunky and more smooth to play like adding a ult that takes time to build up reallllllllly does the trick.... Honestly fights are so mobile that getting a good ult off in a team fight without having say a malph or mao set it up for you is impossible not to mention no one in gold+ is dumb enough to just stand in your ult long enough to get the damage off.

Tbh I think she needs a couple of buffs, shes underwhelming and clunky to play compared to other mid laners rio basically made her so that she has to use a full spell cycle just to trade. Lowering her cost by 10-20% or being rewarded with building mana early to sacrifice the damage. Since the mage update riot nerfed her Q ap raito from .5 to .4 but didnt do anything to compensate the strait up nerf that it didnt need. Making her Q faster or lower the cd by 2-4 seconds would do wonders. Her wall i would like to not draw turret ago, her e could use more range or 50% of the base damage be true damage to make it really feel rewarding to set up your e (i mean riot gave syndra true damage)

She doesn't need any buffs, she's sitting at one of the top winrates, not just of mid champs, but of ANY champ in the entire roster.

Because of her ease of farming and gold earning.

Thats what her play style is focused on now, farm up and stall until late game where your damage is actually noticeable. Being aggressive early on as aniv is basically putting a target on your back saying kill me. Shes really more of a team reliant mid laner then a hyper carry (unless the enemy team comes at you one at a time). Her win rate is good right now but only beacuse her play rate is 2-2.5% so that tells us that the small handful of aniv mains (myself included) know how to play her well and can win with her. If she had the play rate of lets say cait or lee or even yasuo i doubt her win rate would still be as high.

She has a low playrate because her playstyle is uninteractive and boring, hence the topic title. A lot of champs have the stall until late game playstyle (as in, every single ADC), but they are very interactive in lane and actually do more than press 1 button and then do nothing.

All she has to do is survive until six with minimal CS if necessary, and then she autowins lane by pressing a button and walking away.

Singed at least puts himself at risk to proxy and is likely to feed a lot of money to the enemy team in doing it and can singlehandedly lose the game for his team.

Anivia is zero risk, zero interaction, zero skill.

ÈvilMorty1 votes

Of course she has risk, if you follow up on pushing your lane, you get ganked and popped since your squishier then sona and super immobile your kinda either forced to play safe and farm due to riot giving her the shaft early. Placing a ult down take the cs and walk away is really all she can do in lane or risk getting ganked and losing lane. As well as unlike alot of other mid laners, anivia can not roam without risk of being caught out by the other mid laner and jg. Zero interaction is well its not wrong, the only time aniv can land a q for sure is if your a melee range and at that point your kinda asking for it if your that close to her. But that can also be said for ahri, vieg, syndra, or any other mage for that matter, if your walking up to them your gona get comboed. For skill riot fizz enthusiast even confirmed aniv is top 10 skill ceiling champs in the game so you have your opinion on skill but myself and riots team thinks otherwise.

Veigar is stupid in his own right, but you can dodge his Q and punish him if he misses any of his skills. He -has- to use his Q to farm, so you can play around his Q cooldown to punish him. He actually has counterplay in lane. You can easily flash over his cage and kill him if he's not ahead and once you flash his cage, he's defenseless.

You can't flash over anivia's R because it takes up the entire screen and if you so much as touch the edge of it, now Anivia can E you for half your HP and stun you because you're slowed.

Veigar is probably the easiest champ to lane against. I always pray I get to go up against Veigar when I play the mid lane. I don't think there is any easier lane. For all his bullshit, he has no engage whatsoever. You have total control over that lane. All he can do is try to react to whatever you do. That's how he gets fed.
