This is what I've concluded. Soraka is so passive that she's only as good as your adc. And your adc usually isn't very good. Supports that can make plays and take initiative are far, far better if you want to rise.

Quepha2 votesYour reasoning is flawed because the players on the team should all be around your skill level. So the odds of your adc being good are the same as the odds of YOU being good.
If you're a smurf or queuing up with a friend who's way lower rank than you and you're clearly better than everyone on your team, then yeah, you should play brand or lux "support", farm a bunch of kills bot lane, build damage and carry the game. If you're on your main account though, then you should pull your head out of your ass and realize that you aren't god's gift to League.

What? The last lcs match she was in was this past weekend and her team won by a large margin with soraka having 100% kill participation Last split she was played for 2 games in the bracket for a shot at worlds. She won both games and then from thT point on was banned against that same team so they couldn't use her Soraka is pick/ban in gold and above basically. I'm gold(was gold in s5, haven't finished placements for s6) and she's banned in 90% of my games, my friends diamond and same with him. And if you watch any challenger or master steamer soraka is always banned. I love soraka but she's toxic as hell lol

did you not notice the casters laughing as she ran through the jungle not being able to do a single thing in skirmishes? They were literally laughing saying "well soraka is just... soraka-ing." She was only played due to janna being banned. Soraka is god in lane but after that picks like janna and alistar make her look very small.
Janna out peels her in every way, and alistar out peels her in every way, along with having 4-5 times the sustain. The only reason soraka sees play is her BROKEN AS HELL lane phase, which i cant argue. High tier though, where less and less kills are given in lane, is where her value begins to suffer. Add to that the amount of "nerfplz" threads and you have yourself a champ whos OMEGA WEAK in team fights who is also on the slate for more nerfs. Not someone you should be maining right now.

The reason soraka isn't picked that much in competitive play is because most pros know that in order to win vs a soraka the team has to kill her first so they will try and counter pick with an assassin of some sort. But in the games where soraka can get picked last vs like a poke comp or a comp that lacks engage? She's going to be unstoppable. Last 3 Lcs matches in the past few months don't lie, she's 3-0 since s5 in USA play.

If the champ were an ali or janna as stated there wouldnt have been a need for the nailbiting heals, it wouldve been peel and forget.
3 game winrates dont prove anything to me, the pickrate vs other champs proves more at this point. And 3 games is enough to tell me there are much better choices for support.

Your a support main right? I looked you up. If you want to climb the Elo ladder play 40-50 games with soraka and watch some videos. She's one of the only supports that can hard carry a team. Bronze and silver seems like they haven't got a clue how to deal with her so if the soraka is positioned right the game is over, and she will single handily make a bad team good

i had two accounts in plat last season, and ive said multiple times that soraka is god tier in lane, what im stating is that her teamfight and lategame presence are enough to counter any lead you have recieved in lane, making other supports far better choices.

I respectfully disagree. If she has a team comp that has good peel and cc she is just as good in team fights as she is in lane. And even if she doesn't have the comp, right now with the fast paced games, it might be a better thing to have a better lane. But like a said with the right team comp she's just as good and even better in some cases then other supports. You were plat last season huh? What accounts? Add me...

- Soraka can make plays. I'm not sure where you're getting the "she can't" from
- Soraka can step in when an ADC fails, esp. in low elo.
Oleandervine1 votesSomewhat. That 10% boost to her heals from the Windspeaker mastery means that your ADC will not be dying so long as Soraka is landing Starcall and not being focused.

SirShaggy1 votesIt all depends on if your adc is bad. Soraka is pretty close to broken and very anti-fun in any Elo.
If you feel like you can't trust your low Elo adc go with a carry support like Karma, Morgana, Brand etc. Someone who can build damage, still has utility, and won't be entirely reliant on others. Karma is my go-to support for solo-queue, with Morgana and Janna right behind her. She's a lane-stomping beast once you get her down.

Supports like Bard, Trundle, etc. are bad at low elo since players there don't know how to work with them.

Nothing is more hilarious then when a bot lane gets gabled in low Elo and the enemy are all focusing the adc while soraka spam he's him. And if soraka gets targeted then you just target their adc with your adc and it still is a 1:1 trade. The champ is absolutely broken lol
