I played against one of the other day and couldn't do anything, I was renekton and he's super low interactive, he just farms up until he gets sunfire and zz'rot and beats you by attrition then late game he's this super tanky anti carry

What do you against him?

U cant do anything against him. U need to send your AP mid laner to deal with him.

Pretty much this.

Renekton is a AD champ. So you're screwed by default.

Rammus only deflects autoattack damage. You should change your wording a bit there. If your kit relies a lot on AA then yeah, and renekton has a reset so I can understand rammus beating him.

Rammus also stacks armor mostly for his passive. The AA damage reflect isn't what makes him annoying.

I'm going to provide a few specific tips for the Renekton vs Rammus match-up.

[1] Rush Hexdrinker

Rammus deals primarily magic damage (QWR, Sunfire Cape, Thornmail), so Hexdrinker will mitigate his damage significantly and let you trade better.

[2] Build Black Cleaver

Black Cleaver will reduce Rammus' armor when you fight which will 1) amplify the damage you deal to him and 2) reduce the damage he deals to you (though his passive, W, and Thornmail). In addition, the CDR will give you better sustain and waveclear (through your Q).

[3] Don't engage fights (unless favourable)

Rammus is a difficult champion to engage upon; his Q interrupts you, his W turns most trade in his favour, and his E will make it extremely dangerous to fight him in his minion wave.

I would recommend focusing on farm during this lane so you can get enough items to be relevant mid-game. When Rammus wastes cooldowns, engage on him for a quick trade and back out (to sustain up).

If possible, you want Rammus to engage on you. You want to E out when he activates Defensive Ball Curl during a trade, then wait a couple seconds before re-engaging. You should be able to out-trade him while Defensive Ball Curl and Puncturing Taunt are on cooldown.

Get Teemo. That rat will fuck shit up for any rammus. Also getting someone like Olaf or Tahm Kench will screw you over. Trust me, as a Rammus main these are the fuckers that will ruin him (and me when I play him)

So it's either lane swap with your leblanc who after a certain point won't be able to burst him because of his large health pool, or play rumble, that sounds fair and balanced

Chogath Ryze Should give you a fighting chance. Anything AA based is going to suffer the item 3075 and rammus specializes vs AD.

You can try Pantheon Shen i believe those two would work great. Worst comes to worst make your jg camp you and warn him that if he doesnt get shut down early you will get splitpushed to death.

Build BotRK is your best option as ad that's about I it though

I don't play Rekenton, so most of this will be of the somewhat generic nature. That said...

Play a champion that deals Magic damage. That hurts Rammus pretty hard as he'll have to stack Magic Resist instead of Armor (Rammus's Passive and W scale on Armor ).

Rammus relies on sticking with you for most of his damage. Jump in, slice/dice, and get out if possible, but that's gonna be difficult as Renekton or any other melee champion.

If playing AD vs Rammus (either counter-picked or just wanting to for some reason), get some help from teammates. Mages and other Magic damage dealers generally can do the trick.

Item build-wise, I can't exactly help much with Renekton specifics. Still, some of this may come in handy.

Build Magic Resist. Rammus's abilities (Q, W, and R) and Thornmail all deal magic damage.

Damage options: item 3156 - 50 Magic Resist, 55 Damage, 10 Armor Penetration; Magic damage shield + 25% Attack speed, 10% Lifesteal and Spellvamp until out of combat item 3139 - 35 Magic Resist, 75 Damage, 10% Lifesteal; Taunt Cleanse + Burst of +50% Movement speed

Tanky options: item 3102 - 70 Magic Resist, 500 Health; Blocks first spell against you item 3065 - 70 Magic Resist, 500 Health, 10% Cooldown reduction; Increases all healing item 3512 - 60 Armor and Magic Resist, +20% Movement speed (near all structures); Helps push a lane or slow the enemy laner's push item 3026 - 60 Armor and Magic Resist; Get another chance to kill/escape every 5 minutes item 3111 - 25 Magic Resist, 30% Tenacity (Maxed Taunt goes from 2.25 seconds to 1.575 seconds)

Build Armor Penetration. If he's gonna build tons of Armor, build some Armor Penetration.

item 3156 - Mentioned above in Magic Resist item 3071 - 55 Damage, 300 Health, 20% Cooldown reduction; Cleaves Armor up to 30% when dealing physical damage item 3142 (Probably not optimal on Renekton) - 65 Damage, 10% Cooldown reduction, 20 flat Armor Penetration; 20% Movement speed + 40% Attack speed every 45 seconds

Build Health. Health counters Attack, Magic, and True damage (not %Health damage, but Rammus has none in his kit).

Damage options: item 3053 - 400 Health, +25% Base Damage (14.5 - 27.75 Damage depending on your Level); When passive triggers, gain another +25% Base Damage + 30% Health shield every 45 seconds item 3022 (Probably not as optimal for Renekton) - 650 Health, 40 Damage; 40% Movement speed slow per auto-attack dealt item 3071 - Mentioned above in Armor Penetration

"Damage" options: item 3742 - 50 Armor, 500 Health; Gain stacks of movement speed, Deal Damage and a Slow when fully stacked item 3068 - 50 Armor, 500 Health; Deal AoE Magic damage to Rammus/enemies within melee range

Tanky options: item 3143 - 60 Armor, 500 Health; 15% Attack speed reduction when hit + AoE 35% Slow Movement speed every 60 seconds item 3083 - 850 Health; Gain substantial Health regen outside of combat item 3056 (Probably too niche for Renekton, though could prevent a kill if Rammus Taunts under his turret) - 300 Health, 50 Armor, 10% Cooldown reduction, +20% Movement speed (near all structures); Disable enemy turret every 2 minutes item 3102 - Mentioned above in Magic Resist item 3065 - Mentioned above in Magic Resist

Build Armor. Rammus gains Attack damage equal to 25% of his Armor, so his auto-attacks get stronger the more Armor he builds.

"Damage" options: item 3742 - Mentioned above in Health item 3068 - Mentioned above in Health item 3075 (Probably not optimal unless stacking Armor/vs 3+ Attack damage champions) - 100 Armor; Returns a minimum of 25% of auto-attack damage as magic damage

Tanky options: item 3143 - Mentioned above in Health item 3056 - Mentioned above in Health item 3026 - Mentioned above in Magic Resist item 3512 - Mentioned above in Magic Resist

Don't send AD champions against him for starters. Send AP champions against him or AD champions that also deal decent magic/true damage or have some way of cutting through a lot of armor.

Farm, and then kill his teammates in team fights.

Why are you letting him farm?

Rammus is super vulnerable early game. You are fucking Renekton. Just beat his ass whenever he tres to kill a minion.
