Yasuo winrate drops 5%

Veraska··41 votes·3,933 views

fun note of mention, thanks to the nerfs to warlords bloodlust and the huge nerfs to stattik shiv (his favorite item) it appears yas winrate has returned to normal, 46ish % along average, above 50% for yas mains

Doesn't change his frustrations points much but yo me he seems to be put back in place numbers wise.

Bad news for all the Yasuo haters, there goes their favorite complaint of the month, back to "unfun omg crit" for 'em I guess.

Yes, how unfortunate for them that something they disliked, an instance of Yasuo being obviously, undeniably over-powered and broken, no longer exist. Really weakens their arguments about him too...

Half these boards still thought he was OP when he had a 42% winrate last year. This won't stop them.

42 is teh meaning of life. yasuo had 42% win rate. nerf yasuo

Zedex4 votes

I'll repeat what I've said before, my belief is that the extreme hate for Yasuo is new mid players being unskilled at the lane or the champion they're choosing.

Even if he isn't op, he's very anti-fun and just aggravating to play against.

I don't hate him 'cause I think he's op. I hate him 'cause everyone and their mom thinks their pro Yasuo.

OurLestrade2 votes

He's a champion I want to play, but you see him in every single bloody game being played by prats who think they're pro gamers... I don't want to be thrown into that group :l

I stopped playing Riven for the same reason. I love playing her, I really do. But when every other Riven player is a cancerous piece of trash and people start calling you an "fucking OP nightmare"... it starts to get to you.

Chicken4dinner1 votes

I started playing him when I was level 20 before I knew about all the crap around Yasuo, now I don't have to feel bad about playing him.

Aka, once you get into the rhythm of a champ you can just ignore what people will say about him and his playerbase. Cuz like really, who the fuck has time for that shit?

Saianna7 votes

This is NOT about him being OP or UP.

This is about how frustrating it is to play against Yasuo. How annoying he is.

Do you get it?

Sona Ping2 votes

I know that already; that has nothing to do with what either of us said. Separate topic entirely.

Saianna1 votes

Are you sure? You've labbeled our whole "yasuo-hate" into "cause he is OP" bag of arguments.

And that is false. For me he could have 0% winrates, really.. But in the end he is very, very unfun to play against. I feel exhausted playing against him, even if I win..

Sona Ping3 votes

I think you may need to re-read what I have written a lot more carefully, you are not even in the right ball park.

It also makes absolutely no sense that you are protesting me and about how my comments on a subject are not applicable to some entirely different subject I am not even talking about.

GenghisEmo1 votes

If i recall well, he still crits all the time and gets crit freaking fast, just that Shiv magic damage reduced when the charged up. Which doesn't seem like a huge nerf, per se, but substantial enough he wont snowball as fast. But can still push down towers or waves fast, which seems a bit much. Maybe instead of 75% magiv dmg to minions, make it 65%?

wow, a thread that doesn't complain about yasuo and isn't getting downvoted to elo hell, Is this real?

JustMyBassCannon2 votes

Well, the first fact is a factor for the second fact. It's not a mindless complaint, it's a discussion-prompting observation.

Dude Im a Nurse8 votes

Good. I'm SICK of seeing him in every freakin' game.

LankPants4 votes

You probably still will. Yas is just one of those champ's who's always going to have a stupidly high pick rate.

People used to say this about Lee Sin.

They got over it.

No, Yas mains still have a >50% winrate with him. I want to see Yasuo become like Nidalee, where even her mains can't break 50% winrate.

you know that other champions mains have >60% win rate right?

PrinceOfStorms3 votes

I'm salty about Riot dumpstering Nidalee.

Zedex5 votes

Except they didn't. A shift in play patterns and build choices is hardly dumpstering. Or are you just upset your spears don't hit for 900 damage anymore?

ChaosThief1 votes

They still should; just isn't anywhere as easy anymore.

CrazedPorcupine4 votes

I don't care, he's still an anti-fun frustrating champ to play against. IMO, his kneecaps need breaking.

Zedex7 votes

Yes because breaking champions kneecaps and leaving them in the dust has been so productive in the past.

Considering I watched as Vlad, Akali, and Morde got Spell vamp nerfed into the ground for over 3 years.

Yasuo has been a problamatic champ since his release. Just like Riven.

And honestly, the only thing I want destroyed on Yasuo is his W.

CoolKnightST4 votes

I fear Yasuo will never be fully ballanced. Yasuo mains will always find something to get him over the top again. It was the item 3087 item 3078 build in late season 5. And right now it's the item 3087 item 3031 100% crit again. I have a bad feeling we wll see item 3124 on his toplane build in the future what will make his winrate skyrock again to a point they will have to nerf the AP ratio on his E. And than we didn't even mention what the new item 3078 & item 3142 could do on him. Hell maybe we will even see a jugger build on him item 3071& other could be scary.

We must also not forget that riot is planning to give Assasins itematisation some love & I'm 100% sure he will be able to abuse some of them pretty easy on release.

Spoofghoul4 votes

I just want Yasuo playrate to drop by 100%

Pledgie3 votes

you guys are forgetting that win rate isnt the end all to define if a champ is op or not. Yes, yasuo is extremely frustrating to play against, but the only problem i have with him and the reason i see him as op at the moment is because he is an early lane bully AND a hypercarry. Those qualities should not exist in the same champion.

JustMyBassCannon4 votes

Win rate and pick rate combine to make a pretty solid scope of a champion's balance, and considering his above-average pick rate and below-average win rate, I'd say that indicates him being pretty close to balanced.

That said, there are some good ideas out there for how to tweak him for a more even power curve and fewer spaghetti plays.

he is not a hyper carry, he does stupid amounts of damage but he has to get in melee range

AKA, hypercarry. such as master yi or tryndamere

I don't hate Yasuo because he's OP. I hate Yasuo because he's incredibly frustrating to play against as a skillshot champion.

FrickendaChicken1 votes

I don't want to be rude, so I'm going to ask you, can you name a specific skillshot champion and I'll tell you how to beat a Yasuo with that champ? I only say this because I'm trying to prove to people that yasuo is fairly balanced.

Veigar, Orianna, Vel'koz.

I agree that yasuo is balanced. Balanced doesn't mean fun to play against.

FrickendaChicken1 votes

Veigar, when Yasuo jumps on you with his E, and has his tornado up, you need to move forward, and his Q will miss you, then you just trap him, burst him and run, and the cooldown mark on his E on you wont be up long enough for him to chase. You have now won the trade by just taking an E to the face. Veigar is actually someone I try to not face in lane as aggressively as usual as Yasuo because of that reason.

Orianna is simply not a good pick against Yasuo as she is so squishy and has hard time keeping him off of her. So you basically need to have a good jungler and good positioning so you can combo your shield and ult onto him. So basically it just takes team co-ordination. You have to be able to burst him with your abilities and your jungler has to fully commit in order to get hiim before he flashes away or something.

Vel'Koz is a unique matcheup because of how skill based it is. Yasuo Windwall will block every spell except for your ult. So don't throw your kit at him all at once. Yasuo can also E past you when you ult, making it useless, which is what I try to do, because even if it puts me in tower, tower is less damage than the ult. When he jumps on you, make sure you kite him around with your cc. And you'll probably need a junglers help if he is winning lane simple because of how mobile he is.

I reccomend having a Vi/J4 on your team if you know you're facing Yasuo as one of these 3. They will keep him still long enough for you to come into play. And above all else. just keep moving and buy boots early so you can dodge tornadoes and E+Q combos.

I hope you found this helpful

Except that when I try to burst him, he just wind walls, and since he's already E-Q-AA'd me, I'm going to lose this trade. My only hope is that he'll mess up and walk into my stun, in which case I can get off a full combo sans wind wall. Reliant on his mess up, not my outplay.

-Ori and Vel'Koz- -snip- So you basically need to have a good jungler [...] So basically it just takes team co-ordination [...] your jungler has to fully commit in order to get hiim before he flashes away or something [...] you'll probably need a junglers help if he is winning lane simple because of how mobile he is [...] I reccomme -Ori and Vel'Koz- -snip-nd having a Vi/J4 on your team if you know you're facing Yasuo as one of these 3.

So basically what you're saying here is that the best I can hope to do is to let him push me under tower, keep up my cs and go even, and hope for jungler intervention. Except this isn't really an option, because Yasuo is going to outscale me anyway.

So basically my options are, hope that yasuo messes up or that I'm just vastly more skilled than him, or depend on a random jungler in soloQ to camp my lane. Sorry, I don't like these options.

The Fast2 votes

You will probably give good advice, but the problem is that Yasuo has ways to play against being played against. That is to say he simply just has more tools available to him than most other champions. He's not impossible to beat, not is he inherently unbalanced, but he is fucking annoying, no matter what, and thats the problem.

FrickendaChicken1 votes

I can see why others find yasuo unfun to play against. But tbh I find the little dance that goes on between a Yasuo and his opponent fun. Even if I'm the opponent. it just creates this mobility based matcheup where both people are always moving and trying to outplay the other.

Vincent Lucius1 votes

On one hand you just made me imagine Zed in a dress dancing with Yasuo, on the other I actually do want to say that Yasuo tends to win the mobility matchup pretty well against most mages. That said, I don't mind him that much, and that's from someone who plays Lux and more recently Veigar when he goes mid. Veigar is a matchup I need to learn, but with Lux he's only annoying until I get the items to make it a real "If one of us gets caught they die" matchup.

It's hilarious when they dive me under tower with their ult and then get caught in my combo because I take barrier on her. And then people congratulate you because you do well against a counter.
