LF Help: Selecting the best champion for your team in Champion Select

Hello fellow summoners, making a quick run up to silver (again) I'd thought I seek some help in picking the right champion for my team. Usually I just look at champions selected and search them in champion select or a lol top counter chart and pick a counter, but lately I feel thats not always best for my team (even if its best for my lane). So I was hoping for some general advice on when I should be playing x champion with an y kind of team. Here are the champions I've picked up for each lane in order from most skille/often played to least that I play (same with lanes)

Mid: Akali, Liss, Cass, Kass, Kat, Diana Top: Akali, Quinn, Shyvana/Irelia, Jax, Diana, (want to learn trynd) ADC: Vayne, Lucian, Ezreal, Ashe, MF, learning twitch Jungler: Shaco, Hecarim, Shyvana, Akali, (learning Yi and want to learn nocturne) Support: Thresh (I only have thresh, but I play a pretty mean one), Liss (never played him support, but bet I could do pretty well)

I know simple things like Liss good against ppl wtih high dmg that are devastated by cc (draven, AKali, etc) but some general advice would be much appreciated, thankS!
