Changing avatars with skins

First, what is an avatar? An avatar is the image of our champions face at the bottom left hand screen when we play

What is a skin? A skin is something we purchase with real money to make the game have more personal appeal

Why does our avatar not display the image of the skin we purchased? I have no fucking idea but wish I did, the coding can't be THAT hard to change a still image with skins can it?

My suggestion? People like me who have spent well over 200 dollars on this game buy skins cause we WOULD RATHER see the skins we bought in game or simply DONT LIKE the originals at all. No offense but I don't find Elise's original face appealing at all and don't want to see it. Can we please get her copy/pasted gorgeous blood moon face to appear at the bottom of our screen when we play after we but it please along with all other skins?

I suggested this once, and even added in the clause that they could be toggled on and off (initially disabled) in case you'd have trouble recognizing all of the champs.

Needless to say, the idea was smashed into the ground.

I think he means changing only the ones YOU see. Not the portaits everyone seens.

And there's not even a riot post anywhere on the subject? It just doesn't make since that they don't have this

It's for clarity. It would be really frustrating to lose a game because you thought someone on your team was taking an objective on your minimap, and it's actually just another champion on the enemy team with a skin that make it look similar to you team's champion. I understand the desire for changing avatars, etc, but I totally get why it hasn't been done. It's not even that important, the actual character is what's changed.

I don't think OP is suggesting changing the minimap icons. Just the portrait at the bottom left that ONLY YOU SEE.

Yes, for clarification this what I mean. I didn't even think about the mini map, but no, I do not believe that should be changed as well. Just the portrait on the bottom left. And if they are doing it with spirit guard, does that mean they will be implementing it to other champs? I hardly see how it is fair only to do it on ultimate skins (or w/e they're called)

I feel like the mini map portraits are too small for anyone to care about them really. They are there for game purposes only, where as the bottom left hand portrait is for aesthetic purposes only (cause let's face it, how many ppl need it to remind them who they are playing lol)?

You could say this would be true if their champion already looked like another champion. That comes down to map awareness, either way they are outlined in Red and Green coloring. People have also stated the idea for being able to toggle this display on and off. So if you as a trouble have trouble turn it off and it would show all the basic icons for EVERYBODY for just you. I personally would rather see the skin icons on both teams.

I believe they already do this for Spirit Guide Udy (unless that was just edited into the stream I saw?). It's a good idea as long as only you can see it, but then the problem is that either its also changed on your minimap, or it isn't, which both pose issues.

Not if they allow a toggle effect for skin icons. If you as a player have an issue with it you can toggle it off but it wouldn't effect the player who actually purchased the skin and paid money and wants to see it. Minimap icons and all. If you can toggle it, then it would come down to a players choice to see them or not and have it off by default and something you have to manually turn on. The issue then might be making the 100(s) or so faceplates, and making sure each skin has a proper looking face for the faceplate. Some skins might honestly have very nice art and TERRIBLE looking faceplates. Kinda like how the old MF art made her look like she had a huge gap in her teeth and bug eyed. It would be a lot of work to put in for something people have already paid for and it would be more more work they would have to put into each other future skin. Their priority is honestly coming out with more skins, champions or balance changes and this is something that would be low on their list.

Great idea!!!!! Sadly I think you are right about the priority list, but for the most part I feel like a copy past from skin would be adequate for most champions for their icon on the bottom left. The mini map would be a bit more challenging, but they could maybe implement one sooner then the other?
