Anyone can support if you have the right composition. If you're taking Kayn as a support, take someone with lots of CC like Jhin, Ashe, or whatever mages are super fly down bot at the moment with CC, and do hit and run poke tactics. Once you get Rhaast, you'll do much better since you'll get your own CC.

dont get me wrong as a support main i have played nearly any and everything at support one time or another. i get the idea of trying something seems fun. but just gotta ask yourself if the champ going to be effective with their kit , for the team, on a support gold income.

you see pyke and think cool an ad assassin support. but look at his kit and how its kinda over loaded, look at his ult , he literally Kill steals and to make it work in the meta they have to have the passive that gives kill gold to who ever assisted on the kill. and yet he still is hit and miss. you have to have the team comp for it to work. an adc to set up plays ( cc or utility ) a tank/engage in either top ( which is really bad in meta currently ) or from jungle which isnt meta really either.

No. Simply, there is nothing about him that would have him as support nor make it pleasant for you.

In seriousness, no. He lacks CC unless he gets Rhaast, has no utility outside of his self-heal on E, and loses out on a lot of his power (the surprise assassination from E) if he goes in a lane.

I know I'm Necro-ing an old thread here, but I did it the other day. Wasn't necessarily fantastic, or meta, or viable, or any of those other descriptive terms to describe something optimal. But I had an absolute blast doing it. They would often chase me into the wall and over extend just enough to get ganked or all in-ed as I shadowed out of bounds to safety. It was overall a fun experience I don't recommend doing in ranked or even in a normal unless your bot lane is okay with it. Fun, not viable.
