An overabundance of CDR.

Seriously, Riot. They're are too many items with CDR. Some just flat out don't need it or have too much. Its annoying to buy some items because you overcap cdr making it less cost efficient. Or it makes some items too good. Essence Reaver for instance. Or the ease of which so much CDR can be obtained makes some champs flat out op, then those champs get nerfed, meaning if you dont build those items youre at a disadvantage, or if you play that champ different youre at a disadvantage. Many champs who had gone for a while in a balanced state simply become overbearing because they can easily cap out cdr in 2 items.

Im sure this is the millionth post saying this but yeah, there is too much.

Not sure why ADC's needed CDR. Sure there are caster types, but most damage is supposed to be through autos. Mana sustain sure (that was the niche of ER) but why CDR?

They don't need it. That's why you get shit like Lucian dashing every like 3 seconds. Besides CDR crowds out every other stat. It's literally on every item. Like, Death's Dance should not be about CDR. It should be bought for its passive. there have been multiple times I'd have gotten it, but there is no point as my CDR is already capped and there is no point in wasting stats.

I think it's meant to help casters fall off less in the lategame, since attack heavy champions tend to be better lategame and weaker early. Then we had season 5 where only attack based adcs were played to good effectiveness,

Essentially cooldown reduction is to casters the same thing attack speed is to auto attackers and riot wanted to make casters a bit better in their roles without buffing them directly but allowing items to make them good.

They over did it. A huge portion of itemization is just loaded with cdr. It makes reaching cap so easy.
