Dragon's Decent.

Why is it Shyvana's ultimate gets stopped by literally everything, even Quinn's E. honestly it makes no sense, its a freaking dragon it should be like Malphites or noc's ult where the cant be stopped.

Yea, Dragon's pretty decent.

I agree with your point, it's called an ultimate for a reason

I'm a long time Shyvana main and that would be op. She would almost never be caught and be able to displace entire teams with an ult that is available in less then 30 seconds. So it makes a lot of sense.

sorry but what? the skill does next to no damage, it is extremely unreliable in whether or not you actually move people more than 1/10th of an inch and unless you are fighting often and it's late game then there is no way Shyvana will have her ult back in less than 30 seconds and by late game everyone will most likely have their ults back up about the same time Shyvana's is

If those are the results you get when you play Shyvana then you are doing something wrong, but let me tell you why you are wrong point by point. First of all, it does a decent chunk of damage so you are just flat out wrong about that. Second, displacing an opponent by even 1/10th of an inch can win teamfights, Stop certain ults and save teammates. Thirdly, if you are playing Shyvana you should be fighting often! Its integral to her kit, if your ult is not up, Jungle, farm and fight until it is.

On top of all of that, Shyvanas's ult is an excellent engage, escape and it makes her more powerful! Shyvana is in a really really good place right now, she certainly doesn't need a buff and I wouldn't be surprised if riot actually nerfed her. It sounds to me that you don't know how to use Shyvana correctly.

Because the main point of the ult is the transformation, not the dash.

Wow because the transformation is super impactful? [slayer-jinx-unamused]

It's only moderately impactful, which is why it also has barely any cooldown, lasts forever, and is a damaging long-range dash.

qetzel1 votes

It gives her a fuckton of AOE. It is actually quite impactful.

It doesn't give her the same immediate power other ultimates have, but if the fight goes on a little bit it really starts to hurt.

IcyPepper2 votes

lasts forever

I wouldn't say that.

It's not on demand and long-lasting as, say, Elise or Nidalee (but then again, they often have reasons to transform to human form).

Dunno why. Probably balance reasons.

That said, Shyvana needs looked at anyways. Without Sated, it feels like other champions do her job better and more consistantly.

LordForrest2 votes

I refute this statement, because before Sated was added i was doing a warrior build with her and i was consistently doing good with her, pretty much if i wanted to win i would play her

Marthian1 votes

before Sated was added

Exactly. Her top lane has a low win rate as well (40%)

LordForrest1 votes

What? I stated that i did good with a build that didn't use sated, how does that have anything to do with top lane or a low win rate?

Mathbalnase1 votes

I'd interpret it as a reference to / commentary on the power of sated, acknowledging that other champs can and do (ab)use it at least as well as Shyv.

You can stop a nocturne ult.

When I used to play ahri he would often ult me while low under my tower.
Charm to the face full combo free kill and teleport to shop. It was perhaps the most enjoyable thing about Nocturne

Weiner the Pooh1 votes

if you land the charm mid flight the the stun will last lands but hell still do damage.

100% agree.

I love the concept of Shyvana and love the character, but she is just so shit that I can never work her into ranked games (I.e. play to win). She is terrible at initiating precisely because Dragon's Descent can be stopped so easily and has such a telegraphed animation... I played Diana a few times against Shyvana, I could stop her ult mid flight with my ultra-low range E because Shyvana's ult was so easy to predict and counter.... it's ridiculously slow.

I say buff either the speed of Dragon's Descent to at least match Lee's Q ... or make it an unstoppable dash like Maokai's W/Malphite's R/etc. As it stands, it is arguably the worst gap closer in the game.

Shyvana can be stopped when ulting because 1 - She's a dragon and 2 - Her ult is her W, but fancier.

Besides, Shyvana's ult just makes her abilities do AoE things, but that´s about it.

Flawless logic there.

But sarcasm aside, precisely because she is a dragon, her Descent ultimate should not be the most flimsy gap closer in the game.

SithesisLord1 votes

Well, technically, it´s not a gap closer. Whoever uses Shyvana's ult to catch up is doing Shyvana wrong.

Y'know how a Lee Sin uses his ult to throw enemies at his team?

Yeah, same thing for Shyvana's ult.

Lumen Sage1 votes

Not really always an option considering that unlike Lee Sin, Shyvana cannot dash to a target, dash again beyond the target and then turn around and ult. She has to physically run in front of the target to ult them towards her team. Unless off course the enemy stuns her, then she just sits there.

SithesisLord1 votes

Well, here´s the thing. You don´t gank as Shyvana. You countergank. You make their jungler your bitch. Their jungler comes up to gank your teammate, you come up behind him and make him suffer from making the poor choice of leaving his jungle. You kill him, then you take his camps to ensure your dominance.

summoner 11summoner 3Shyvana

You outduel almost all junglers.

Lumen Sage1 votes

And that has what to do with what I or you wrote?

You compared Shyvana's role to that of Lee Sin in a teamfight, talking about how she should throw the enemy towards her team with her ult and yeah that is an ideal scenario.

However my point was that Shyvana lacks all the tools Lee Sin has for getting behind an enemy, so unless Shyvana can flank the enemy there is little chance of her doing what you said she should.

Llanite1 votes

Noc/Mal ult has only ONE effect - a dash, whilst Shyv also gives her bonus stat and new abilities.

Apple and orange.

Lumen Sage1 votes

Malph ult is one of the fastest, most reliable knock ups in the game, easily winning team fights if the team follows up and Nocturne's dash has vastly further range, is point and click and reduces the enemies vision when activated.

Mayor Stubbs1 votes

Honestly aside from that, it seems pretty buggy with the actual movement of opposing players if you use it to dash over them. This ability has been kinda questionable since her release

Lumen Sage1 votes

I agree with the post and can we look at the actual dragon transformation of Shyvana while we are at it? The four limb design with front limbs doubling as wings and for walking is not consistent with the six limbs of the actual dragon on the summoners rift.

I know it would take a lot of work probably, but inconsistencies like that annoy me and on a more personal level I just like the Summoners Rift dragon design better than Shyvana's dragon form.
